No Taste Like Home: What To Expect
What’s No Taste Like Home About?
He rose to fame as one of the Fab 5 on Netflix hit Queer Eye, but this spring Antoni Porowski is turning his attention to pastures anew, delving into the foodie past of a string of famous friends. In his new show No Taste Like Home, we’ll see the star accompanying a line-up of actors on journeys to their hometowns, where they’ll explore their ancestral gastronomic roots.
Produced by Gordon Ramsay’s TV production company Studio Ramsay, in collaboration with National Geographic, the series will include six episodes, each featuring a different celebrity and ending with a big family meal.
First up, we see Florence Pugh (Don’t Worry Darling, We Live In Time) delving into her family’s foodie history across Oxford, the Yorkshire coast and London. Pugh is a keen cook, and in lockdown she shared some of her favourite recipes in a popular Instagram series, Cooking With Flo.

We’ll also see Porowski joining Justin Theroux (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) on an Italian road trip, tracing the history of one of his family’s most beloved dishes, tortellini en rodo. Another episode, meanwhile, will see James Marsden (Hairspray, 27 Dresses) journey from Texas to Germany, dining with royalty and scaling the Bavarian Alps along the way – and even uncovering the secrets behind his ancestors’ decision to emigrate.
Other names set to feature in the series include Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians), Henry Golding (The Gentlemen) and Issa Rae (Barbie).
‘Food is such an integral part of understanding who we are and where we come from,’ said Porowski. ‘I am so grateful for this once-in-a-lifetime adventure, alongside some wonderful friends both new and old, traveling the globe, making up for all the times I skipped geography class in high school, to explore food traditions and cultures, and am honored to embark on this journey with National Geographic.’
Gordon Ramsay, meanwhile, described the show as a fascinating, feel-good series that will beautifully thread together family food stories from past and present.’
