Take a glimpse into the party bags of the ultra elite
A bouncy ball, a Swizzels drumstick, a slice of cake wrapped in a brightly coloured napkin: these are the typical spoils of any good party, held in a flimsy plastic party bag (or is it paper these days?) and dished out to excited children just before home time. Over in Hollywood, this age old tradition is emulated, and seriously elevated. Attendees of the film world’s glitziest night, the Academy Awards, are bestowed with a delightful bag of treats to take home with them, a little ‘thank you’ for their attendance – and one that, this year, is valued at over $170,000 USD (approximately £132,308). Here’s a glimpse inside the Oscars goody bag this year.
What’s Inside The Oscars Goody Bag 2024?
While there can only be one winner in each Oscars category, no one leaves the ceremony empty handed. Instead, for the 22nd year, Los Angeles marketing company Distinctive Assets curated the ‘Everyone Wins Nominee Gift Bags’, goody bags reportedly valued at over $170,000 and bestowed on 25 Oscar nominees in the acting and directing categories.
Distinctive Assets’ founder Lash Fary has been curating the bags for more than two decades, but the Oscars haven’t given ceremony attendees official gift bags since 2006, due to tax scrutiny.
So, what’s inside these independent goody bags? A bounty indeed, spanning kitchen appliances, charity donations, wellness treatments and glitzy holidays. And these gifts are just that: gifts bestowed on the celebrities by the companies that made them in the hopes that they’ll get some global exposure.
‘While our gifts may be famous for being fun, fabulous and unique, they also serve to elevate small businesses, minority-owned brands, female entrepreneurs and companies who give back,’ Lash said in a press release. Here’s exactly what that includes this year.

‘While this gift bag does, as always, have an impressive six-figure value, that is neither our focus nor goal,’ Fary said. ‘Just as any A-list actor doesn’t “need” millions of dollars to walk onto a film set, these gifts are given based on the invaluable stardust these nominees can bestow upon a brand. Of course, they can afford to buy these things; they are also in a uniquely favourable marketing position. This is a straightforward win/win transaction.’
Who Gets One?
Distinctive Assets distributes its ‘Everyone Wins’ gift bags to 25 Oscar nominees each year. This year, the lucky recipients are: Bradley Cooper, Colman Domingo, Paul Giamatti, Cillian Murphy, Jeffrey Wright, Annette Bening, Lily Gladstone, Sandra Hüller, Carey Mulligan, Emma Stone, Sterling K. Brown, Robert De Niro, Robert Downey Jr., Ryan Gosling, Mark Ruffalo, Emily Blunt, Danielle Brooks, America Ferrera, Jodie Foster, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Justine Triet, Martin Scorsese, Christopher Nolan, Yorgos Lanthimos and Jonathan Glazer.
