For the third year running, London is set to display special Ramadan lights to observe the special month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community in Islam. The ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, Ramadan is taking place from 28 February to 30 March 2025, culminating with Eid – so make sure you see these glittering displays before then.

West End
The official Ramadan lights display is back in the West End for 2025, a swathe of 30,000 lights switched on by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan. The display stretches all the way from Picadilly Circus along Coventry Street to Leicester Square, and it’ll shine until 6 April from 5pm to 5am each night. Funded by the Aziz Foundation, the ‘Sundial’ design reflects the transition from sunrise (suhoor) to sunset (iftar) during Ramadan.
This year, visitors to the area will also be able to fid an interactive light installation in Leicester Square and an Iftar food trail featuring discounts, freebies and specials. Find out more at ramadanlightslondon.com
Edgware Road
Last year, a new Ramadan light installation was displayed at Nutford Place (between Edgware Road and Marble Arch). A bespoke installation standing at 2.9 metres tall, it was a glittering crescent moon visitors were invited to pose with, inside and all around. Hopefully it will return for 2025.
