Pick – and carve – your own
The Halloween spirit is taking over London, with the spookiest day of the year just over a week away. With the crisp air, falling leaves and eerie decorations already adorning homes and shopfronts, the city is ready for a hauntingly good time. This weekend, Richmond is getting prepared early, launching a free pumpkin patch for a spine-tingling day of family fun.
Richmond’s Free Pumpkin Patch Is Back For 2024
From 10am to 4pm this Saturday (26 October), families are invited to Whittaker Avenue to select their plump orange pumpkins from the patch, complete with classic hay bales and vintage carts – the perfect backdrop for an Instagram-worthy snap. Then it’s time to get to work on your masterpiece: carve a suitably scary design into the squash, or just keep it simple with a ghoulish face (here are some ideas if you’re stuck).
But that’s not all: if you fancy a festive transformation yourself, talented face painters will be on site, ready to turn you into anything from a ghoulish ghost to a spooky skeleton.
‘This is one of our favourite events of the year,’ says Anna Bromley, Marketing Manager at Be Richmond BID. ‘It’s all about bringing Richmond together to enjoy a day filled with creativity, fun, and community spirit. We can’t wait to see everyone’s amazing pumpkin designs.’
Afterwards, head out for a stroll around pretty Richmond and its segment of the River Thames.
