Forget igloos, in 2019 it’s all about hot tubs – Nordic-inspired, riverside ones with dedicated waiter service to be precise.
They’re popping up as part of Winterland London, the ski-lodge themed festive retreat perched next to the river in Fulham, known during the summer months as Fulham Beach Club – the umbrella term for the venue being Neverland.
From 7 November, guests will be able to book out a bubbling hot tub for up to six people, looking out onto the River Thames though sheltered from the cold. You’ll be waited on hand and foot, with mulled wine, beer and other drinks all available to order from the Moose Bar. What better way to keep warm this winter?
If you’re not feeling the bubbles, the classic igloos are also available for hire, seating up to eight people. Elsewhere, guests can try their hand at shuffle board, beer pong and table tennis, or cosy up in one of the fur-lined cabins. A range of street food is on offer, including cheese fondue, sourdough wood-fired pizzas, mac ‘n’ cheese and burgers, alongside warming gin cocktails and boozy hot chocolate. From Thursday to Saturday, DJs will keep things lively until the early hours.
In the run up to Christmas, Santa Claus himself will be making an appearance, taking place on 1 and 8 December. Christmas markets will also be taking place on these dates. These are free to attend, but booking is essential for Santa’s Grotto Experience – book here if your little one would like to attend.
This follows another popular summer season for Neverland, which saw the space decked out with beach huts, day beds and cabanas, alongside tropical cocktails and a new outdoor cinema.
Winterland is open from 7 November until early 2020. Visit winterlandlondon for more information.
