Here's what's going on in the house of Windsor

Wondering what’s new in the world of the British Royal Family? Here’s the latest royal news from Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, Montecito and beyond.
Prince William Will Star In Clarkson’s Farm Season 4
Breaking news from Somerset: Prince William is set to star in the upcoming season of Clarkson’s Farm. The Prince of Wales was spotted being filmed with Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland by the Prime Video crew at Folly Farm in Somerset in March 2025, all part of his campaign raising awareness of mental health care for farmers with charity We Are Farming Minds.
William, who is also the Duke of Cornwall, shared that his eldest son, Prince George, is a fan of the series. As part of his role, William is the landlord of Duchy farms, and he gathered with 60 of the next generation of tenants as part of his Folly Farm visit. We Are Farming Minds was founded by Duchy tenants Sam and Emily Stables from their Hertfordshire farm in 2020. On Britain’s mental health crisis, William said: ‘With a lot of the work and the research we’ve done, it will take a generation to fix this, but I do think we’re headed the right way, and I’m excited by that journey and that progress.’

Princess Beatrice Shares First Photo Of Baby Athena
26 March: In a new refreshingly candid personal essay for British Vogue, Princess Beatrice has opened up about giving birth preterm. In January, the princess and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi shared they had welcomed a baby girl, Athena Elizabeth Rose – but the news followed weeks of worry and concern after Beatrice learned her daughter was likely to arrive early.
‘Nothing quite prepares you for the moment when you realise your baby is going to arrive early,’ the princess writes. ‘There’s so little control. Will she arrive healthy? Will there be complications? How will you juggle the rest of family life while trying to keep a tiny human safe and well?’
Prince Harry Quits His Charity Amid Row
26 March: The Duke of Sussex has stepped down from his position in Sentebale, the charity the prince co-founded in 2006 in memory of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. Sentebale helps people in southern Africa living with HIV and Aids, and was co-founded with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho.
Both princes stepped down from their positions, along with the board of trustees due to a broken relationship with charity chairwoman Dr Sophie Chandauka, who took legal action after she was asked to resign. Allegations of abuse of power, bullying, sexism and racism have been lodged by Chandauka against Sentebale. The UK Charity Commission has said it is ‘aware of concerns about governance’ and is looking into it.
In a joint statement, the princes called their move ‘devastating’, and said they were acting with ‘heavy hearts’ and in ‘solidarity with the board of trustees’, who originally asked Chandauka to step down.
Charles & Camilla Postpone Their Vatican Visit
25 March: The King and Queen were all prepped and ready to jet off on an Italian adventure – but there’s a spanner in the works. The royal trip – dubbed an ‘historic visit’, coinciding as it does with the Papal Jubilee – was set to include a visit to the Vatican and a meeting with the Pope. However, the head of the Catholic church’s recent bout of illness has been keenly watched, almost certain to impact the British monarchs’ meeting.
Aged 88, Pope Francis was admitted to hospital in February amid breathing difficulties. He was then diagnosed with pneumonia, and developed both respiratory and kidney problems during his hospital stay. He was discharged earlier this month, but is naturally still in recovery.
Today (25 March), the news has been confirmed: Charles and Camilla will delay their meeting with the Pope. ‘Their majesties sent The Pope their best wishes for his convalescence ad look forward to visiting him in The Holy See once he has recovered,’ they said in a statement.
However, Charles and Camilla’s Italian holiday will still go ahead with some alterations to the itinerary – it’s the couple’s 20th wedding anniversary, after all.
Charles & Camilla Fast-Approach Their Vatican Visit
20 March: Everyone is excited for the King and Queen’s upcoming Italian adventure – but first a hop across the Irish Sea to Belfast. The duo first met up with First and Deputy First Ministers Michelle O’Neill and Emma Little-Pengelly at Hillsborough Castle, with the King greeting the first minister in Irish, saying: ‘Tráthnóna maith, a Chéad Aire.’ (‘Good afternoon, first minister.’) Then it was off to Commercial Court to meet Lord Mayor Micky Murray, High Sheriff Fiona McAteer and MP John Finucane, and the Sea Holly Gallery to view the work of local artists from across Northern Ireland, before an afternoon jam-packed with whiskey, jollity, and plenty of meet-ups with local tourism representatives.
So where are the King and Queen off to next? Well, the Belfast visit was more of a surprise than the well-planned and much-discussed upcoming Vatican visit, and isn’t part of an official, ongoing ‘tour’ per se. According to all reports, the monarchs’ trip to meet the Pope will still be going ahead in April, despite the head of the Catholic church’s recent ill health.
Visiting Italy from 7 to 10 April, Charles and Camilla will visit Rome and Ravenna as well as the Holy See in the Vatican to celebrate the 2025 Holy Year jubilee with Pope Francis (a celebration observed in the Catholic church every 25 years). But on 9 April, there’s another anniversary to celebrate: it’s the couple’s 20th wedding anniversary. And there’s a striking parallel: 20 years ago, the nearly-weds had to postpone their nuptials so the then-Prince Charles could attend the funeral of Pope John Paul II.
When the Vatican visit was first announced, the King and Queen hosted a special evening of slow food and fashion at High Grove, with Stanley Tucci roped in to curate the menu. We’re certain the April trip to Italy will be similarly filled with delicious cuisine.
Meghan Markle’s Netflix Series Has Landed
4 March 2025: …And it’s getting scathing reviews. But the eight-part series was destined to be slammed: hot off the heels of the LA wildfires, a saccharine lifestyle series all about hosting and cooking was always going to miss the mark.
As with most of Harry and Meghan’s movements, the media has erupted with criticism for With Love, Meghan, latching on especially to the former actor’s joking admonishment of friend Mindy Kaling for calling her Meghan Markle instead of Sussex five years after the couple scandalously stepped back from royal engagements. But Meghan wasn’t being as snooty as the headlines are making out: ‘You have kids, and you go, “now I share my name with my children”,’ she explains in the episode. ‘I didn’t know how meaningful it would be to me, but it just means so much to go “this is our family name, our little family name”.’

Elsewhere, we learn Meghan lived in Argentina for four months and fell in love with the ‘joy of life and the joy of being outside’, likening the mountainous, outdoorsy vibe to California. Likewise, she chats to her pals (and former Suits co-stars) Abigail Spencer and Kelly McKee Zajfen about her first job at a frozen yoghurt shop. Other cameos include chef Roy Choi and, of course, Prince Harry himself who sprinkles his presence across the series.
So will it be a success? Only time will tell – but it’s make or break for the Sussex duo following their flopped podcast deal with Spotify and the mediocre performance of Harry’s recent polo docuseries. Let’s see if Netflix reinvest in the Sussex empire, or jump ship…

Queen Camilla Named Royal Patron Of The British Racing School
3 March 2025: Her Majesty the Queen has a new string in her bow: she’s the new royal patron of the British Racing School. ‘We are honoured that Her Majesty has accepted our invitation to become Patron of the British Racing School,’ says Andrew Braithwaite, the Newmarket School’s chief executive. ‘The Queen is hugely committed to supporting British racing and to ensuring that young people have the opportunity to experience the life-changing benefits of working with and riding horses, and are able to access the brilliant careers within racing. We are incredibly lucky and proud to have Her Majesty’s support.’

The Royals have a long association with horse racing and equestrianism, and the Queen is no different. Her husband, the King, then the Prince of Wales, officially opened the British Racing School in 1983. Plus, one of the couple’s former racehorses, Schematic, calls the School home, having retired from racing but still being ridden for training.
The British Racing School is a training school dedicated to helping young people aged 16 to 25 pursue a career in the sport.
