Whether you’re a longtime fan or you were drawn into the series’ laughs via clips on social media, it’s safe to say that Taskmaster is a huge hit. Created by comedian Alex Horne and first airing on comedy channel Dave in 2015, Taskmaster was snapped up by Channel 4 in 2019 and has grown exponentially ever since. The show is so successful, in fact, that countries across the globe have created their own versions – including everywhere from Canada to New Zealand, Norway to Portugal – while the UK original can be watched in 120 countries worldwide. All of this is to say fans are very excited to see Taskmaster series 19 – and we’ve finally got some details. Here’s everything we know so far.

But who will emerge victorious and reign as the Taskmaster champion? Only time will tell.
How Does Taskmaster Work?
Never watched before? Here’s the rundown: Taskmaster is presented by comedian Greg Davies, who plays the role of the all-powerful ‘Taskmaster’ ruling over the contestants. Joined by his loyal assistant Alex Horne (who coincidentally created the series), the Taskmaster sets a series of strange and surreal challenges to put the wits, wiles and wisdom of five comedians to the test. What results is a hard-fought yet hilariously absurd competition, almost always descending into ridiculous situations.
At the end of each challenge, the Taskmaster judges the quality of work of each contestant, awarding points as he sees fit.
Release Date
No official date just yet for Taskmaster series 19, but if previous series are anything to go by, the series will kick off before the end of March 2025. Taskmaster usually airs Thursdays at 9pm on Channel 4.
