The 2nd February marks the 54th edition of the American Super Bowl, where the Kansas City Chiefs’ will take on the San Francisco 49ers in the most highly anticipated US football match of the year, world-renowned for its spectacular halftime show.

The 2019 Super Bowl attracted a whopping 98.2 million viewers, but with performances from music icons Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, this year’s championship game is sure to follow suit. Get in on the sporting action at one of these London bars and restaurants’ ‘viewing parties’, featuring giant screens, live entertainment and tasty American treats…

The Stafford’s plush hotel bar, inspired by American cocktail bars of the 1920s and 30s, will be throwing a late-night Super Bowl party, in which Culinary Director, Ben Tish will be providing a range of tasty American-inspired dishes, from New-York style hot dogs to nachos, sliders and indulgent salted butter popcorn, all to be washed down with a glass of ‘The American Dream’, the bar’s signature cocktail.     What? Game day sees the return of Balthazar’s Annual Super Bowl Extravaganza; the New York-style brasserie will be screening the match with a stereophonic sound system, offering ‘Maker’s Mark’ Bourbon cocktails, and serving up snacks and sliders from mac’n’cheese to New York style cheesecake. In fact, every £1 cup of popcorn sold from the Popcorn Tricycle will be donated to Greenhouse Sports, the charity supporting young people in London through sport. If you can’t make the game, pop in anytime throughout the day for an exclusive Balthazar hot dog. What’s more, staff will be sporting football shirts, foam fingers will be supplied and Maker’s Mark will be providing guests whiskey flights and homemade doughnuts to take home after the match.

The live events and street food hub spanning locations in Shoreditch, Croydon and Wembley, will be broadcasting the sports league championship on giant screens with spectacular surround sound, live DJs and peppy cheerleaders.     What? If you haven’t yet visited Elephant & Castle’s latest food and retail destination Elephant Park, you needn’t a better excuse than the Tap In’s Super Bowl party. The Cuban-style craft beer bar – which boasts over 300 bottles and 20 rotating craft beer lines – will be screening the game whilst serving up its signature Miami street food-inspired dishes.
