In this new, free exhibition hosted at the Design Museum on Kensington High Street, Luxury Cave will be launched – an e-commerce platform selling extraordinarily unique and rare pieces from the art, fashion and design industries. Each object has its own innovative story and the website is a digital portal treasure trove, which will be explored in the exhibition.
Founded by Darren Miller and Sofia Barattieri, Luxury Cave is a website concept allowing customers to shop unusual luxury products that, like gold dust, can’t be found elsewhere. The aim of Luxury Cave is to get people excited about the immense amount of time, craftsmanship and emotion that goes into the making of some of these items. It’s strapline, Curation of the Finest, relates to the handpicking of items relating to fashion, design, art, jewellery and automotive that are either one-offs or limited edition. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to see the e-commerce platform come to life, with incredible items on show curated by Art Director Simon Costin. Some particularly exciting features to see is the couture from Mary Katrantzou, artwork by Lucio Fontana, the well-known Spun Chair by Thomas Heatherwick, and so much more.
Luxury Cave is more than just a website or e-commerce platform – it aims to be the bridge between artist/creator and buyer, shining a light on skills and innovation. Described as a ‘complete lifestyle ecosystem’, the retail experience understood when using the service is designed to ‘surpass expectations’ – and this exhibition is the perfect place for potential new customers to experience this for themselves.
Alongside the launch of Luxury Cave, LXC magazine will be relegated – a brand new biannual design and culture magazine curated by some of the greatest writers and experts around, with articles delivering content to ‘inspire, inform and impress’ its readers.
