Summer’s not over quite yet according to Summer Nights, a festival running throughout September celebrating the joy of outdoor cinema in gloriously grand locations. Run by QUAD, the centre of film and art in Derby, Summer Nights screens classic and fan favourite movies in historic heritage locations across the UK.
Once you pick your screening, pack your bags, being aware of the changing weather in September. Pack something comfortable to sit on (camping chairs work well), blankets in case it’s chilly, pillows for extra comfort, and some drinks and snacks for the movie – some sites have refreshment options but why not bring your own picnic hamper so you have all your favourite bits to nibble on throughout the showing.
There are four different venues taking part in the festival, each with its own schedule. Here’s the line-up:
RHS Garden Harlow Carr in Yorkshire
September 5 – 7
Attingham Park in Shropshire
September 6 – 8
Speke Hall in Liverpool
September 12 – 15
Witley Court in Worcestershire
September 19 – 21
September 5 – 21 2019
The participating venues are RHS Garden Harlow Carr in Yorkshire, Attingham Park in Shropshire, Speke Hall in Liverpool, and Witley Court in Worcestershire.
Tickets are £15.50 for adults and £10.50 for under 12s (under 5s are free). Choose which venue you’d like to visit and movie you’d like to see, booking on summernightsfilm.co.uk.
