To celebrate the official first weekend of summer, luxury country house hotel Thyme is putting on a weekend of celebrations entitled Thyme’s Summer Celebration. Falling perfectly in line with the start of the season, Thyme is also taking the opportunity to celebrate its new Ox Barn Terrace, Garden Room and Shop, The Piggery. Guests are invited to mosey on down to explore the new digs and will be treated to a complimentary glass of fizz along with some garden foodie treats to enjoy whilst perusing the spaces.
To make Thyme known as a destination in its own right this summer, they’re putting on three different masterclasses to get guests and visitors in a summer mindset. With one already sold out (the ‘A Soft Summer Palette’ masterclass with the hotel’s Head Florist teaching attendees how to do natural hand ties), there’s limited time to book a spot on the other two:
Summer ‘Al Fresco’ Masterclass, Saturday 22 June: the morning masterclass will be hosted in the Cookery School and the adjoining Olive Gardens. The perfect place to pick up tips for summer dinner parties, BBQs and picnics, the masterclass will explore summer plates made with seasonal ingredients from Thyme’s gardens and farm. After the class, which will be hands-on and leave you with recipe inspiration and cooking tips, you’ll sit down for lunch where you’ll enjoy the fruits of your labour accompanied by a glass of wine or homemade cordial.
Summer Drinking: Mocktails and Cordials, Sunday 23 June: ever dreamt of being able to create your own crafty concoctions? Join the mixologists of Thyme’s Cookery School for a practical lesson in alcohol-free summer drinking. The class will be followed by the grand reveal and tasting with garden nibbles too, before your creations are bottled for you to take home.
