Make haste: a new tea is coming to the ton
Dearest gentle readers, we have word of the social event not to be missed this season. The Lanesborough is giving its Bridgerton afternoon tea experience a festive spin – complete with an array of seasonal treats that Lady Whistledown would approve of.
The Lanesborough To Launch Bridgerton Christmas Tea
Launching this November, the Bridgerton Festive Afternoon Tea will be offered beneath the glittering chandeliers of the hotel’s Regency-inspired dining room. Diners will be treated to an array of suitably elegant sweet and savoury dishes, which are outlined on a Bridgerton-style menu.
The experience will begin with finger sandwiches: fillings include roast Norfolk turkey, chestnut and sage, truffled egg mayonnaise, and juniper cured Scottish salmon with lemon mayonnaise. There are also homemade scones, served with fruit preserves and clotted Devonshire cream, alongside an impressive selection of pastries crafted by head pastry chef Morvan-Benezet and his team, themed around the hit Netflix show, from Colin’s Travels to The Book of Eloise.
All this can be paired with cocktails, such as the Twist on a Margarita made with 1800 Coconut tequila, cherries, cranberry juice and fresh lime juice; and a mocktail called The Blooming Wallflower, featuring flavours of cherry, raspberry and lemon. There’s also champagne available by the glass, including Moët & Chandon, Taittinger and Krug.
Of course teas feature too. The Lanesborough has created a dedicated Bridgerton blend: black tea made with fruit and rose petals, alongside the hotel’s classic breakfast blend. There are also ‘teas with a twist’, with flavours like chocolate brownie (black tea), white chocolate chilli (Chinese white tea), and rhubarb and vanilla (Chinese green tea).
One of London’s most iconic hotels, The Lanesborough is renowned for its afternoon tea. It’s served in the hotel’s flagship restaurant, a beautiful space set beneath a domed glass roof.
The afternoon tea will be served from 13 November 2024 – 8 January 2025, £98pp with a festive cocktail or £105pp with a glass of champagne. oetkercollection.com
