Where to get your pie fix this March
From the hearty and meaty to the sweet and fruity, pies have been a staple on British tables for centuries. Each year, the beloved dish is celebrated in British Pie Week, which returns from 3 – 9 March 2025, culminating in the British Pie Awards, which sees almost 1,000 pies judged in a prestigious competition. Restaurants across the country also get involved with the culinary fun, adding special dishes to their menus during March – here are the ones not to miss.

The Audley Public House
Gastropubs often do a great pie, but this creation from Mayfair hotspot The Audley Public House sounds particularly special. A collaboration between chefs Jamie Shears and Alex Dilling, the ‘posh pork pie’ is an elevated take on the pub classic, made with black truffle, trumpet mushrooms, Alsace bacon and Cognac. Long-standing menu favourites, meanwhile, include a chicken, ham and leek pie, and a Durslade Farm shepherd’s pie.

Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill
The clue’s in the name: oysters are central to Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill, Richard Corrigan’s Mayfair institution. It’s no surprise then, that the British Pie Week special is a beef and oyster pie, served with buttery colcannon and rich gravy. Alternatively, guests can tuck into the restaurant’s classic fish pie, which Corrigan recommends having with a splash of green tabasco. Don’t knock it ‘till you’ve tried it…

The Grill’s head chef Tom Booton has reimagined the classic pie inspired by G. Kelly’s heritage: a pork and mushroom pie served with parsley sauce and vinegars. G. Kelly, meanwhile, will be introducing a limited-edition chicken and mushroom pie inspired by Booton’s signature dish.
