British Restaurant Awards: Which London Spots Were Nominated?

Last week a whole host of London restaurants were named in the Good Food Guide’s list of the country’s top local eateries. And now a line-up of the capital’s best dining spots have been nominated for the British Restaurant Awards 2024. 

Nominations Announced For The British Restaurant Awards 2024

The prestigious culinary awards were created in 2017 to recognise the country’s best restaurants and chefs, with categories including Restaurant of the Year, Best Luxury Restaurant, Best Hospitality Team and Best New Restaurant.

Once again, London has put on a strong showing in the 2024 nominations. Recent launches including Jeremy King’s Arlington, Claude Bosi’s Josephine in Fulham and Koyn Thai in Mayfair are all in with a chance of being crowned Best New Restaurant. 

It’s another starry year for Happy Bar & Grill, a family-friendly Bulgarian restaurant in Piccadilly Circus, which has been nominated for a number of awards including Restaurant of the Year, Best Takeaway Restaurant and Best Hospitality Team. In 2023, the eatery won two awards: Best Culinary Experience and Best Restaurant in London.

City stalwarts including The Ritz, The Ledbury and Core by Clare Smyth have been named in the Best Luxury Restaurant category, while Soho favourites Mountain and Kiln could be awarded Best Culinary Experience for 2024.

Mambow

In the Best Restaurant in London category, nominations include Abby Lee’s Malaysian restaurant Mambow, which was recently named London’s best local restaurant by the Good Food Guide. CLAP London, a relatively recent addition to Kensington focused on fine dining Japanese food, has also been nominated, alongside esteemed West African restaurant Akoko in Fitzrovia.
