The innovative London restaurant is joining Uber Eats

It’s one of the buzziest restaurants in London right now, but a meal at Ikoyi will set you back a whopping £320. However, this May you’ll have a chance to try some of its dishes for just £60, thanks to a new takeaway menu launching on Uber Eats.

Ikoyi To Launch Delivery Menu

This will be Ikoyi’s first foray into food delivery. Available for two days only, the five-course menu will include dishes designed especially for Uber Eats, drawing on signature flavours from the restaurant.

There will be crispy fried chicken with scotch bonnet and raspberry salt (a classic Ikoyi combination), mutton merguez and green goddess green slaw, suya tamari pork, and flower sugar cake with batak berry. Diners will also have a chance to try Ikoyi’s famous take on jollof rice, served with crab custard. A drinks pairing will also be available for an extra £25, including concoctions like the Timur and Tea Gimlet, Eko Gold and Pedro’s Elixir.

Founded by friends Iré Hassan-Odukale and chef Jeremy Chan, Ikoyi originally opened in St James’s in 2017, going on to move to a larger space on the Strand in 2022. The eatery is renowned for its no-boundaries cooking which draws on flavours from all over the world, including many spices from sub-Saharan West Africa. Dishes are centered around hyper-seasonal British ingredients: organic meats, biodynamic vegetables and fish from UK waters dispatched using the Ikejime method (designed to maintain the quality of the fish).

Plate of food at Ikoyi

Ikoyi has scooped up numerous awards over the years. The eatery took home the One To Watch Award at the World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards in 2021, and by 2023 it had secured spot number 35 in the list of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. It also has two Michelin stars – and in 2023, Resy highlighted it as one of the most in-demand restaurants in London.

Speaking about the new delivery menu, Ikoyi’s executive chef and co-founder Jeremy Chan said: ‘I often enjoy delivery food at home myself when I’m not working. When Uber Eats approached us, we were delighted to partner with them and share some of the tastes and flavours of Ikoyi for people to enjoy at home for the first time.’

The menu will be available on Uber Eats on 10 May for Uber One members, and everyone on 11 May from 5 – 10pm.
