Lamia’s Fish Market

This two-storeyed immersive seafood restaurant in the East Village transports diners to an aquatic wonderland, with a variety of different dining spaces to explore (and snap for the ‘gram, of course). On the first floor there’s a raw bar serving up oysters and ceviche, which sits beneath a 30-foot skylight, with a living wall and mirrors shaped like barnacles. Elsewhere there’s The Grotto, complete with a sea-blue floor and exposed stone walls; a private dining room styled like a ship; and even an octopus-themed space with curved banquette seating designed to make you feel like you’re in the ocean.

Pietro Nolita

Sucker for pink? Pay a visit to Italian eatery Pietro Nolita, which stands out on a quiet Elizabeth Street block with its subterranean entryway, which is, of course, bright pink. The theme continues inside, where all interiors are rose-hued – from the vinyl bar stools and leather banquettes to the pastel walls and even the plant pots. Throw into the mix some heart-shaped ravioli, artistically presented frozen cocktails and bucketloads of rosé, and you have yourself an Instagrammer’s dream. Did someone say Barbiecore?

The Press Lounge

New York is jam-packed with glitzy roof terraces, but this one is particularly Instagram worthy. Located at the top of the Kimpton Ink48 Hotel, it offers panoramic views over the Hudston River and Manhattan skyline. And, as if that wasn’t enough photo material, there’s also a pool, which is not for swimming in but simply admiring. Go at sunset for small plates and cocktails, camera at the ready.

Grand Salon at Baccarat Hotel

Prepare to be dazzled at Baccarat Hotel’s Grand Salon, the Midtown venue attached to the fine crystal brand, which glistens from head to toe. The overall venue channels 18th-century France, with its Grand Salon resembling a Parisian drawing room: think parquet floors, chandeliers, faux-covered chairs and Jouffre silk-covered walls. Cocktails are served in crystal tumblers, it has the largest champagne list in the country, and food comes courtesy of two Michelin-starred Culinary Director Gabriel Kreuther. Pure opulence, in the best way.

Magic Hour Rooftop

Another sky-high number, this rooftop bar and lounge sits right beside Times Square, on the 18th floor of the MOXY NYC hotel. A playground for adults, the expansive space is home to a topiary garden, a miniature crazy golf course, rotating carousel-style seating and floral décor galore. Food is equally Instagrammable: there’s a pancake stack topped with hot pink cotton candy, alongside a ‘Curiosities’ menu of drinks served in a variety of vessels, including ‘Doctor’s Orders’, a rum concoction served in what looks like an IV drip.

While We Were Young

The interiors at Greenwich Village restaurant While We Were Young are like a walking Pinterest board. Trendy locals perch on powder pink and lavender banquettes sipping the titular cocktail: vodka with ‘butterfly peaflower’, vanilla bean and sparkling wine. Also worthy of a picture or two is the marble bar covered in petals, plus the blue walls dotted with hanging lights. Even the receipt is aesthetically pleasing, scattered with gummy bears.

Citizens of Chelsea

Bringing sunny Aussie vibes to New York is Citizens of Chelsea, a cosy neighbourhood café serving all-day brunch. The space itself has a minimalist vibe, with pretty plants and exposed brick walls – but it’s food that really shines here. Order a wellness latte (the ‘Velvet’ variety is particularly photogenic) and a Belgian waffle (topped with all the trimmings) and you’ll be raking the likes in before you know it.
