Is this London's wildest venue?
London has one of the world’s liveliest nightlife scenes, with an endless string of restaurants, bars, shows and clubs dotted across the city. But where to go if you’re looking for all of the above, rolled into one?
Enter Lío London, the all-singing, all-dancing experience which combines top-class food and drink with music, entertainment and more. The concept has been a big hit in Ibiza since 2011, with venues to follow in Mykonos and Mallorca – and last year Lío shimmied its way to London, arriving in the former Cafe de Paris site near Leicester Square. Intrigued? Here’s what you can expect at the renowned party hotspot.
Lío London: What To Expect
Each season, the Lío team create a unique show which incorporates acrobatics, dancing and singing – all amid the venue’s majestic surroundings. The theme right now is Besos, Beats and Beauties, and you have just a few more weeks to catch it, as the season’s final show takes place on 29 June.
That’s not all though: guests will also be treated to an impressive Mediterranean-inspired menu designed to showcase the best seasonal fare. Highlights from the spring menu include seabass carpaccio with bottarga, watermelon radish and yuzu; artichoke risotto with lovage and lemon; roasted mokfish with marmitako sauce; and wagyu tenderloin with foie gras and truffle chips.
After dinner, the venue transforms into a nightclub, where you can party until the early hours. On Fridays there’s a focus on deep house music, while Saturday sees Lío Lates take over – think wild acts, DJs and a club-like atmosphere. It’s also worth keeping an eye out on the music schedule: big DJ names play at the venue once a month – recently Lío has hosted names like Jamie Jones, Nic Fanciulli, Seth Troxler and Fat Tony.
Sure to be a highlight this season is the Lío London x DJ Supperclub event on 20 June, which includes music from house DJs Joel Mignott, Max Mills and G&T, alongside an elevated four-course menu.
