British-Italian cafe Polo Bar is one of London’s few 24-hour food spots, serving everything from fry-ups and pancakes to burgers and toasties. For many years, the only exceptions to this were Christmas Day and Boxing Day, but in 2023 the family-run joint decided to introduce a 24-hour Christmas dinner. And now, it’s back for a second year running, offering Londoners the chance to tuck into a hearty festive roast from morning to night on 25 December.

Polo Bar To Launch All-Day Christmas Roast

The Leicester Square venue will be serving a £17 feast, complete with turkey, roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, veggies and stuffing. You certainly won’t go hungry: Polo Bar is renowned for its generous portion sizes. But if you want an extra treat (it is Christmas after all), there’s an option to add bottomless Yorkshire puddings.

The cafe also has a 24-hour alcohol licence, with a selection of locally produced beers and spirits on offer, alongside champagne and cocktails. Coffees and teas are also available throughout the day and night.

Not in the market for a breakfast Christmas roast? There’s also a Christmas brunch on offer, where you can enjoy 90 minutes of free-flowing fizz alongside Santa’s Big Breakfast, which swaps the classic sausage for a bacon-wrapped one. Alternatively, there’s a Crimbo Burger, served with sage and onion chips.

Polo Bar first opened in 1953, conveniently located just outside Liverpool Station, known back then as Marco Polo Bar. It was set up by Bruna Inzani and her husband, focusing on traditional English breakfasts – and still to this day, the Inzani family run the show.

Over the years, the cafe has become known for its foodie challenges: the Pancake Challenge, for instance, invites guests to take on a stack of 12 pancakes, while the Burger Challenge involves attempting to eat five steak burgers in under 15 minutes. The Christmas roast, though, can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace.
