This limited-edition egg from pastry chef extraordinaire Nicolas Rouzaud is a work of art. Crafted from 70 percent Valrhona dark chocolate, it’s filled with almond and cacao nibs praline, with an intricate design inspired by cherry blossoms – a nod to the beauty of spring. It’s available to buy from Rouzaud’s equally pretty patisserie at five-star hotel The Connaught this April.

Now London chocolatier Melt has used its two key ingredients, pistachio and kataifi (a type of pastry), to create the ultimate Easter egg. You might know Cutter & Squidge for its signature biskies, but the bakery also creates some impressive Easter eggs. The Billionaire Easter Egg is a favourite: it sees half a milk chocolate egg shell filled with a salted caramel layered shortbread crumb and honeycomb ganache, topped with chunks of fudge and mini chocolate eggs.
