Riverside East has launched a new venture
There’s no better way to spend a Sunday morning than with a trip to your local farmers’ market to pick up some fresh goodies. And now East Londoners have another option on their doorstep: the new market arriving at the recently opened food and culture hub Riverside East, located in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford.
Riverside East Launches New Food Market
The East London destination has been a hit since opening its doors in May, offering an array of different spaces including a huge outdoor dining space and a rooftop bar overlooking the capital. Its latest addition is a farmers’ market from The Big Market London, who will be running two new regular events: The Riverside Market and The BIG Market.
Both will focus on supporting local businesses who are conscious about their impact on the environment. The Riverside Market will focus on food produce, with an array of stalls offering baked goods, cheese, fresh produce and much more. The BIG Market, meanwhile, will focus on lifestyle brands – from vintage clothing to jewellery and homeware. Visitors can peruse the stalls while enjoying music from the resident live DJs.
Afterwards, there are plenty of other elements to explore. With a menu designed by Lulu Cox (whose CV includes Rochelle Canteen and St. John), the cafe serves breakfast and lunch made using low-waste suppliers such as Wildfarmed and Sitopia, an urban social enterprise farm in Greenwich. Think hearty brunch dishes followed by burgers, sandwiches and salads, alongside coffees and juices. The bar, meanwhile, serves craft beers from Gipsy Hill, Mammoth Tap and Signature Brewery.
