Some dining inspiration for 2025

The year has started on a positive note for a bunch of London restaurants, which have just been added to the Michelin Guide. Although there’s only one round of new stars each year, Michelin’s inspectors can add new venues to the guide throughout the year – with new eateries released on a monthly basis. December 2024 was a particularly strong month for London, with 11 new eateries securing a coveted listing.

Being Michelin recommended isn’t quite as prestigious as a Michelin star, but it’s still an impressive accolade for a venue. The most recent round of new additions to the guide included Llama Inn in Shoreditch, the New York import which landed in Shoreditch just over a year ago. Perched above The Hoxton, the restaurant serves South American-inspired plates and buzzy cocktails.

Mignonette was also added, Richmond’s neighbourhood bistro renowned for its high-quality, affordable French cuisine, alongside Filipino eatery Donia in Soho. There are four new additions from Mayfair, too: glitzy sushi restaurant Niju, Jason Atherton’s grill house Mary’s, and Dosa, the Korean-inspired chef’s table at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair.
