Pies Will Take Centre Stage At Harrods’ Revamped Restaurant

The Georgian has undergone a makeover


When it first opened in 1911, The Georgian at Harrods was London’s largest restaurant. Since then, it has remained a popular fixture in the capital for over 100 years – but this winter, the esteemed eatery will enter a new era.

What To Expect At The Georgian 2.0

The Georgian will reopen on 4 November 2024 following an extensive refurbishment. Still sitting on Harrods’ fourth floor, the space will feature a sparkling new design helmed by David Collins Studio, alongside Harrods’ in-house team, who have taken care to preserve the room’s Art Deco grandeur while adding extra touches of glitz. An array of chandeliers will hang from the ceiling, with a central piano creating a feel of Jazz Age glamour.

British chef Calum Franklin will be heading up the kitchen’s evening menu, focusing on British ingredients and classic cooking. Franklin, who hails from Rosewood London’s Holborn Dining Room, has become famous for his showstopping pies, which he’ll be showcasing at Harrods with the signature Georgian Pie Experience, as well as classics such as beef and shin, chicken penny, and beef wellington.

Alongside this, the eatery will celebrate the restaurant’s decorated history, with recipes inspired by dishes from Harrods’ archive. Think British oysters and caviar to start, followed by starters including the ‘1909 – Harrods Diamond Jubilee Consomme’ and Cornish crab tart.

Afternoon tea is one of The Georgian’s long-standing traditions, so of course this will feature in its new iteration. Diners can expect an impressive spread of sweet and savoury treats created by Harrods’ in-house patisserie team, led by executive pastry chef Markus Bohr. A seasonal menu will include contemporary twists on classics, such as a confit duck sandwich with orange marmalade, English cucumber and cream cheese on white pain di mie, and cakes including a blackberry tart, and a pistachio and cinnamon Breton.
