Mayfair's beloved fish and chip shop is expanding
Since opening in 2016, The Mayfair Chippy has garnered a cult following, with Londoners queuing round the block for a taste of its award-winning fish and chips. And now, the venue has announced it is opening a brand-new outpost in Knightsbridge.
Opening This November: The Mayfair Chippy Knightsbridge
Set to launch this November on Brompton Road, the restaurant will be much larger than the original, spread across two floors and offering an all-day dining experience. Fans will be able to enjoy signature dishes, such as the Mayfair Classic: fried cod or haddock with chips and mushy peas, or a veggie version made with halloumi. The famed Mayfair Chippy Shepherd’s Pie will also be on offer, made with braised lamb shoulder and seasonal greens.
But there will be new additions too, including a breakfast menu. This will offer fish-focused twists on classic brunch fare: the Fisherman’s Breakfast, for instance, will include cod sausages, salmon bacon, posh baked beans and organic eggs, available alongside dishes like lobster eggs benedict, and kedgeree fritters.
The Knightsbridge eatery will also feature a gin bar adorned with British-style tile work serving classic cocktails – which, during breakfast hours, will transform into a Bloody Mary station. There will be a heated outdoor dining space too, meaning you can dine al fresco whatever the weather. Takeaway will also be available.
Located on North Audley Street, The Mayfair Chippy is a London institution, with 1AA Rosette to its name alongside a number of accolades. Known for its elevated take on British classics, it focuses on fresh, responsibly sourced seafood from Cornish day boats, plus vegan alternatives, alongside a selection of homemade sauces including HP Gravy and Chip Shop Curry Sauce.Â
