Add these viral bars to your list
Alongside all the videos of viral dance routines and dogs doing cute things, TikTok is a treasure trove of great recommendations for places to go. The platform is awash with videos of buzzy restaurants, but also the bars to have on your radar: the hidden speakeasies, the quirky cocktail hotspots and the glitzy rooftops. We’ve compiled some of the most popular into a round-up of the best TikTok-famous bars in London.
London’s Most TikToked Bars
The 411 Angel
This unique bar in Angel has gone viral since opening in late 2023. Inspired by the lively spirit of New York, it features green leather booths and pool tables – but it’s the Wall Street Wednesdays that have really got TikTok talking. On Wednesdays, the venue turns into a stock market for the evening: drinks become ‘stock’, meaning the prices rise and fall as demand rises and falls, with large screens dotted around the bar displaying the current prices. If you’re lucky, you’ll be there to witness a market crash, which sees prices dropping to their lowest of the evening.

Bokan, Canary Wharf
There’s no shortage of rooftop bars in the capital, but some rise above the rest (literally) in terms of views and vibes. One of TikTok’s favourites is Bokan, the bar and restaurant situated on the 37th and 38th floor of the Novotel London Canary Wharf, which boasts incredible city vistas from the rooftop terrace. For the ultimate snap-friendly experience, go for sunset and order some of the signature cocktails, such as the ‘head in the clouds’: a mix of Portofino gin, Aperol, Italicus and lime.

The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town, Spitalfields
TikTok loves a secret bar discovery – better still if it’s hidden behind a fridge, like at The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town in Spitalfields. Find the SMEG fridge at the back of The Breakfast Club, let the team know you’re there to see ‘the mayor’ and step inside to discover a quirky basement bar filled with vintage furniture. Enjoy fun cocktails like the Peanut Butter Daiquiri (don’t knock it ‘till you’ve tried it) and snacks of nachos and fries before quietly exiting through the loos. Everyone might already know about this bar, but keeping up the speakeasy feel is a part of the fun.

Laki Kane, Islington
With its tropical decor and beachy cocktails served in unusual vessels, it’s no surprise this is one of the most TikTok-famous bars in London. The weekend parties in particular get lots of attention, featuring free-flowing drinks, reggae music, fire dancers and Thai-inspired tapas boards. You can also take part in rum masterclasses – or simply visit with a friend to try drinks served in tiki cups and ornate punch bowls.

Incognito, Kingston
Secret entrance? Check. Rainforest-style interiors? Check. Theatrical cocktails? Check. This Kingston haunt ticks all the boxes when it comes to TikTok-friendly bars – and then some. An offshoot of the original in Kingston, the photogenic bar is decked out with greenery, with miniature hot air balloons hanging from the ceiling. The drinks are equally exciting: signatures include the Holy Grail, served in an ancient chalice; the Smoking Manhattan, which arrives in a cloud of billowing smoke; and the Eton Mass, an alcoholic twist on the classic dessert.

Ballie Ballerson
Unleash your inner child at Ballie Ballerson, famously home to two giant ball pits – which together house a whopping one million balls. This spot is TikTok gold: think mirrored cages, coloured lights and nostalgia-inducing cocktails with names like Skittle Sour, Caprisunha and Hubba Hubba Bubba. For extra brownie points, attend one of the themed brunches – the upcoming Taylor Swift event features a playlist of her best tunes alongside bottomless fizz, picantes and pizza.

Alcotraz, Hackney
This TikTok-famous immersive bar – now running from a flagship in Hackney – is inspired by America’s most infamous prison, Alcotraz. It sees visitors dressing up in orange jumpsuits and smuggling in their favourite tipples, which bartenders will whizz up into cocktails in cell-style booths. It’s gone viral on TikTok in recent years, but understandably the venture has also faced some criticism, with one prisoner rehabilitation charity branding it as ‘tone deaf’. However, the owners responded to backlash by beginning a partnership with Switchback, another London-based rehabilitative charity which supports young men trying to find their way out of the justice system.
