Bero has arrived in the UK

Battling your way through a dark, dull Dry January? We’ve got some news that might perk up your weekends: Tom Holland has launched his non-alcoholic beer brand Bero in the UK.

Bero: Tom Holland’s No-Alcohol Beer Brand Arrives In The UK

Holland (best known for playing Spider-Man) came up with the idea for Bero after giving up drinking in January 2022. He quickly noticed a gap in the market for non-alcoholic beers which looked the same as their alcoholic counterparts.

‘A lot of the labels of non-alcoholic beers are blue. You’ve got Becks blue. Heineken is blue. Guinness is blue. Corona is blue. So I feel like I would be in the bar with this klaxon going off like, “I don’t drink and I have a problem”,’ said Holland.

‘I wanted to create something… that meant you could go into a bar and ask for a household name that represented sobriety but was under the radar, so that people like me could go to the pub and just feel as if they belong as much as anyone.’

A premium non-alcoholic beer, Bero was born in London, but crafted in America with the help of brewmaster Grant Wood – who has over 40 years of experience working at some of the world’s most prestigious breweries. The brand officially launched in America in October 2024, and is now available in the UK.

There are three beers in the range. Kingston Golden Pils is a lager-style brew with malty, biscuit tones; Edge Hill Hazy IPA is a smooth, tropical beer with notes of passionfruit and lime; and Noon Wheat is a light, refreshing beer with an orange-lime flavour. Each brew has a story: Kingston is Tom’s birthplace, Edge Hill is the street where Tom went to primary school, and Noon Wheat is named after Noon, the dog Tom owns with his fiancé Zendaya.

Holland is one of many celebrities tapping into the growing non-alcoholic drinks market, such as Blake Lively, Katy Perry and Lewis Hamilton. The alcohol-free beer sphere in particular is thriving right now: it’s the fastest-growing beer category in the UK, growing by 23 percent year-on-year, according to the British Beer and Pub Association.
