These Are Uber Eats’ 5 Most Ordered Items

Uber Eats hit a milestone order this week, reaching its billionth order. The platform has an endless string of restaurants on its books, from neighbourhood pizza spots to burger joints and sandwich shops, but which dishes have been the most popular over the years? To mark the landmark moment, Uber Eats has revealed its five most ordered items in the UK from high street independent restaurants – and also predicted which dishes will be hot in 2025.

Uber Eats Reveals Its Most Popular Dishes

We’re a nation of chicken lovers, according to Uber Eats’ top orders. In the nine years since the platform was founded, its most popular dish from an independent restaurant was a half chicken from Manjaros, a restaurant group with branches dotted around the country, which blends African and Caribbean flavours. This was closely followed by 6 Piece Chicken Wings from London chicken joint Wngz, and in third place was a Roti Chicken from cult favourite Roti King, a fusion of Malaysian and Singaporean street food.

In fourth place was the Sweet & Sour Hong Kong Style from Chinese takeaway Fortune Cat, with Roti King popping up again in fifth place for its Char Kuey Teow, a stir-fried rice noodle dish. So what about the chains? Surprise, surprise: the most popular item from 2024 was the Double Cheeseburger from Mcdonald’s.

Uber Eats has also outlined some of the fastest-growing items of the moment, which it predicts will become the hottest dishes of 2025. This includes the Chicken Kyiv Sandwich from Bristol-born favourite Sandwich Sandwich, which recently arrived in London; the Cinnamon Social Slice from Denmark-inspired bakery Ole & Steen; and the Masala Dosa from Clapham restaurant Tamila, the younger sister of esteemed Indian eatery The Tamil Prince.

Users are also loving the Prawn & Pork Spicy Wonton from Din Tai Fung; Pasta Evangelists’ Carbonara; and The Hogless Roast Burger from East London’s vegan takeaway The Hogless Roast.
