Kick off the festivities by joining the Waterloo Food Month Launch on 28 June. This street party covers all bases from Mexican to Thai and Ethopian cooking. A giant outdoor screen will, of course, be up for England v Belgium World Cup watching fuelled by street food and drinks, all to the tune of live music from around the world.

Sunday Jazz, Vodka and Dumplings will help you embrace the Sunday blues throughout the month at Eastern European restaurant, Baltic. Guests can enjoy jazz talent, Polish dumplings and house infused vodka.

Waterloo Food Month also offers up some food for thought: Debate: Is Your Diet Making You Fat? (and why are we all so scared of that?) will take place on 2 July. Campaigners, nutrition professionals and bloggers will come together to both discuss how dieting affects the body and mind and explore fat phobia, eating disorders, and body positivity movements. The discussion will be chaired by Becky Young, founder of the Anti-Diet Riot Club; a campaign dedicated to spreading the body acceptance message and helping people to ditch the diet in favour of intuitive eating, joyful movement and self-love. Young Vic Theatre, 2 July, 6 for a 6.30pm start.
