Ever heard of a quinque-plex penthouse? We’ll forgive you if the term sounds unfamiliar. In layman’s terms, it’s a five-storey penthouse – because why stop at a duplex or triplex when you could have an apartment arranged across more floors than the average house?

Unsurprisingly, there aren’t many quinque-plex properties around, but you will find one in Thames City, an incredible new Nine Elms development that was designed by architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill – the masterminds behind the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. The penthouse boasts five bedrooms and two spectacular terraces, each set at different heights to maximise those all-important skyline views.

You’ll spot floor-to-ceiling windows and towering ceilings throughout, plus gorgeous interior design features including brushed bronze fixtures, marble worktops, and herringbone timber floors. The first of the two terraces is complete with sumptuous outdoor seating – perfect for al fresco hosting – while the second, accessed via a breathtaking spiral staircase (and directly from the master suite), is kitted out with a jacuzzi and an outdoor kitchen.

Within the Thames City development itself, meanwhile, you can expect a whole host of amenities within The 1974 Club, a residents’-only space encompassing a bespoke wellness centre, cinema room, karaoke room, business centre, library, and 18-seat dining room – not to mention one of the largest private swimming pools in the capital. So, if you can drag yourself away from this magnificent penthouse and its panoramic views of London, there’s plenty to explore.
