From a wedding (or two) to Lady Whistledown's identity drawn into the light, here are all of our predictions for the next batch of Bridgerton episodes

Dearest reader, if you are as large a fan of the Ton as we are, we’re sure you’ve zipped through the first part and are eagerly awaiting Bridgerton season 3 part 2. Wondering what we can expect? Here’s everything we know so far, plus our predictions.

Everything To Expect From Bridgerton Season 3 Part 2

With the latest season of Bridgerton split into two parts for the first time, the suspense is reaching fever pitch. The season’s first four episodes landed on Netflix on 16 May, with the final four set to be released just under a month later on 13 June 2024. We have a fresh batch of imagery, a release date and the episode titles – so here’s everything else you need to know.

We Officially Have A Trailer

…And it’s incredibly intense. Watch it below.

The Episode Titles Might Hint At The Action To Come

The Bridgerton season 3 episodes titles are as follows:

  1. Out of the Shadows
  2. How Bright the Moon
  3. Forces of Nature
  4. Old Friends
  5. Tick Tock
  6. Romancing Mister Bridgerton
  7. Joining of Hands
  8. Into the Light

Do they hint at the action to come? Certainly. While the titles of episodes five and six are more open to interpretation, ‘Joining of Hands’ and ‘Into the Light’ seem a little clearer: the former being the marriage between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), and the latter being the big reveal of Lady Whistledown’s identity. Of course, this is all guesswork.

Here’s What Will Happen In Bridgerton Season 3 Part 2

(L to R) Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton, Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington in episode 301 of Bridgerton

A Wedding For Penelope Featherington & Colin Bridgerton

After the mid-season finale, the betrothal of Penelope Featherington to Colin Bridgerton will dominate the Bridgerton seasons 3 part 2, with the announcements, joining of the families and, of course, the wedding day.

Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton in episode 302 of Bridgerton

Colin Discovers Lady Whistledown’s Identity

With Lady Whistledown’s identity a hot topic in the trailer for season 3 part 2, we’re certain this will culminate in Colin discovering Pen’s grave secret – despite her struggles to keep it close to her chest. We can only hope this doesn’t spell disaster for the pair, and that their wedding continues regardless.

Hannah Dodd as Francesca Bridgerton in episode 301 of Bridgerton

Francesca Marries The Earl Of Kilmartin

Francesca (Hannah Dodd) was understandably smitten when the reserved John Stirling, Earl of Kilmartin (Victor Alli) rearranged a song for her just the way she’d envisioned. She sits down at her beloved piano, plays the song, and it is immediately clear how touched she is – and we’re pretty certain there will be wedding bells before the end of the season. Without any spoilers, though, if the action continues with the books, this won’t be the end of her story, and we will revisit her in season six, corresponding with book six, When He Was Wicked.

Sam Phillips as Lord Debling in episode 303 of Bridgerton

Cressida Marries Lord Debling

With Penelope Featherington taken, it’s only natural that Lord Debling (Sam Phillips) might look to his other suitress for marriage: Cressida Cowper (Jessica Madsen). In the books, Cressida marries Lord Twombley (a character that doesn’t even exist in the TV series) before Penelope and Colin’s love story unfolds, so the show clearly has different plans. Plus, Lord Debling is a brand new character created for the series. Could his destiny be to marry Cressida?

(L to R) Jessica Madsen as Cressida Cowper, Claudia Jessie as Eloise Bridgerton in episode 304 of Bridgerton

A Queer Romantic Arc For Cressida (And Eloise?)

The Creloise fans are loud and proud, and we’re intrigued by the way their friendship seems to be heading. It is a departure from the novels, but subtle clues hint at LGBTQ+ undertones for Cressida, meaning she could pursue a romantic relationship with Eloise (Claudia Jessie). Plus, with Madsen being queer herself, it would be a natural synergy if the show moved in this direction.

This all said, while Bridgerton is certainly more of a modern take on the Regency period, we don’t think a public same sex relationship is on the cards for any of the characters, but could we see one behind closed doors? Plus, if Cressida weds Lord Debling, who is famously about to embark on a three year expedition, she will have plenty of time on her hands – plus an empty house…

Ruth Gemmell as Lady Violet Bridgerton in episode 305 of Bridgerton

New Love For Violet Bridgerton

Another new character for Bridgerton season 3 is Lord Marcus (Daniel Francis), estranged brother of Lady Danbury. In the books Violet (Ruth Gemmell) never remarries after the sudden death of her beloved husband Edmund, the eighth Viscount Bridgerton. It seems, however, that the show is more open to a third act for Violet – and if anyone needs their garden tending, it’s Violet. All that’s left to discover is why Lady Danbury is so averse to her own brother…

(L to R) Martins Imhangbe as Will Mondrich and Emma Naomi as Alice Mondrich in episode 301 of Bridgerton

More Screen Time For The Mondrich Family

While they are absent from the Bridgerton season 3 part 2 trailer, there has to be a deeper meaning for the rags to riches Mondrich storyline we saw in the season’s first half. With the eldest son of Will Mondrich (Martins Imhangbe) and Alice Mondrich (Emma Naomi) now destined to be a lord, is there another spin off on the cards?

Luke Thompson as Benedict Bridgerton in episode 307 of Bridgerton

Heartbreak For Benedict

Benedict (Luke Thompson) is entangled with another new-for-season-3 character, Tilley Arnold (Hannah New), but we know she isn’t his wife-to-be. A gentle-hearted character, will the more world-wise Tilley break his heart? Unfortunately, we think this may well happen. Hopefully, though, this will pave the way for Benedict’s true love story, which we hope will be the focus of season 4. If this is the case, we predict we will meet Sophie (his ultimate match) before the end of Bridgerton season 3 part 2.

That said, in our recent interview with the actor behind the character, Luke Thompson, Benedict won’t be the focus any time soon. ‘As long as I’m given interesting things to do, I don’t really mind,’ he said. Spoken like a true media trained star.

(L to R) Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma, Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton in episode 301 of Bridgerton

Pregnancy For Kate & Anthony

With Bridgerton season 3 part 1 randomly interspersed with, ahem, intimate scenes between newlyweds Kate (Simone Ashley) and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), we predict there’s another Bridgerton baby on the cards in the near future, with Kate falling pregnant before the end of part 2. Indeed, rather than being bogged down with paperwork, Anthony argues in part 1 that the pair should be ‘making an heir’.

Release Date

Bridgerton season 3 part 2 will arrive on Netflix on Thursday 13 June 2024.
