This is the world’s first stadium show to be powered by 100 percent solar, wind and kinetic energy

Following the sellout success of the summer 2024 European leg of Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour, the band has announced six new shows next year, starting at Hull’s Craven Park Stadium, followed by London’s Wembley Stadium – the only European cities where the band will perform in 2025.

Coldplay’s 2025 UK Tour: What, Where & How To Get Tickets

In true Coldplay style and a world first for a stadium show, the band’s 2025 gigs will be 100 percent powered by solar, wind and kinetic energy. Collected at the venues and elsewhere in the UK, the power will be delivered by a specially designed electric battery system. Dancing is encouraged, too, as one of the satellite stages at each show will be fully powered by energy generated by the audience via kinetic flooring and power bikes.

After all, a band that’s known to minimise its environmental impact wherever possible, Coldplay has announced that the tour to date has produced 59 percent less CO2e emissions than their previous stadium tour in 2016/17, exceeding their original target of a 50 percent reduction. The band has also revealed that 9 million trees have already been planted, with another million set to be planted before the year is out.

The band’s upcoming album, Moon Music, which lands on the 4 of October, continues the eco approach with each LP made from 100 percent recycled plastic bottles, nine per record to be precise. It is available to pre-order now on EcoCD, EcoRecord LP and digital.

Not only is Coldplay harnessing renewable energy for its 2025 gigs, but the band is also giving back with community and initiatives. First off, 50 percent of the tickets for the Hull shows – the band’s first-ever concerts in the city – will go to local fans who have HU, YO, DN or LN postcodes. And, as with all Coldplay gigs, there will be a limited number of Infinity Tickets via Ticketmaster, to make them more accessible to fans, priced at £20 per ticket.

Highlighting the importance and supporting grassroots music, 10 percent of the band’s proceeds will go to the Music Venue Trust, which was announced via a poster in the window of the Dublin Castle in Camden, the location for Coldplay’s first show in 1998. The proceeds will help fund the Trust’s work supporting UK Grassroots Music Venues and upcoming artists. There will be further donations to this charity by the concerts’ promoters (SJM Concerts, Metropolis Music and Live Nation), the band’s booking agent (WME), both venues, and the official ticket agents (Ticketmaster, See Tickets and AXS).

On the donation and grassroots bands, Mark Davyd, CEO of Music Venue Trust says, ‘Coldplay are the perfect example of a UK band who came through the grassroots circuit on their way to worldwide stadium-filling success. It’s fantastic to see them celebrating their own pathway to Wembley by giving back to the grassroots music venues that supported them and recognising the artists and promoters who are struggling more than ever to build their own careers.’

‘Through our partnership with Save Our Scene – who introduced us to Coldplay last year – this money will go directly into work that ensures communities right across the country will continue to have access to great live music on their doorstep,’ Davyd continues. ‘The band’s support really will stop venues closing, make tours happen and bring the joy of live music to thousands of people. After months of discussing Coldplay’s potential support around these UK shows with them, we’re so happy and grateful that the news is finally out there!’

For those who want to get their hands on tickets, there will be an exclusive pre-sale for fans who order the band’s upcoming new album, Moon Music from the official Coldplay UK or EU Stores, which begins on Thursday 26 September, and general sale will open on Friday 27 September.
