If you’ve been wondering when the murder mystery genius of the Knives Out films will return to our screens, you’ll be happy to hear that the third instalment is in the works over at Netflix. Here’s what we know about Knives Out 3 so far.

Is Knives Out A Netflix Film?
Following the success of Lionsgate’s first Knives Out film in 2019, Netflix bought the rights to two further instalments – Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, released in 2022, and the highly-anticipated third film, which is set to arrive in 2025. Entitled Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the upcoming movie sees Daniel Craig return as private detective Benoit Blanc (though plenty more big names have just been revealed).
What Will Happen In Knives Out 3?
Knives Out followed Benoit Blanc’s investigation into the death of a famous author in Massachusetts, while Glass Onion told the story of a murder mystery game gone wrong in Greece. When it comes to Wake Up Dead Man, Netflix has confirmed that ‘Blanc will be unravelling a brand-new murder mystery in an as-yet-undisclosed setting, surrounded by a new colorful cast of suspects’, but further plot details are under wraps for now. All we have to go on is a predictably mysterious video posted by the film’s writer and director, Rian Johnson.

Who Will Star?
The original Knives Out film starred Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Christopher Plummer and Daniel Craig, while the sequel included Kate Hudson, Janelle Monáe and Edward Norton.
While the full cast list for Wake Up Dead Man is yet to be revealed, we know that it will feature Andrew Scott, Josh O’Connor (of Challengers fame) and Cailee Spaeny (the star of Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla).
Is There A Release Date?
Netflix has stated that Wake Up Dead Man will be released sometime in 2025, but we don’t have an exact release date just yet. Check back here for updates.
