Plus: everything to know about all of The Walking Dead spin-offs in the works
The original post-apocalyptic horror zombie series The Walking Dead attracted a global cult following, running for 11 series (amounting to a whopping 177 episodes) from 2010 to 2022. But the culmination of the eleventh series did not mean it was the end of the show for fans: in fact, six spin-offs have been created since as early as 2015, meaning there’s plenty of content to tide you over. The latest is The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, which aired in the US in February 2024 – and it’s finally coming to UK screens. Here’s exactly how to watch it.
Where Is The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Streaming?
In the UK, all six episodes of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live are streaming on NOW from Friday 31 May 2024.
What Is It About?
The series picks up after the events of the original The Walking Dead series, centring on Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) who was taken by the Civic Republic Military (CRM) and was presumed to be dead. He tries multiple times to escape their grasp over five years, including sending a message in a bottle to his partner Michonne (Danai Gurira) and chopping off his own hand.
Eventually, while working on the outskirts of the Civic Republic, he accepts an offer to join the CRM with his ally Lieutenant Colonel Donald Okafor who wants to change the CRM from the inside. The pair head to the Cascade Mountains where the CRM are building a forward operating base – but their helicopter is shot down, killing Okafor. The attacker then kills the other soldiers off one by one as they exit the helicopter, hesitating at Rick. She takes his helmet off and takes off her own, revealing herself to be Michonne. The two are reunited and thus concludes the first episodes, plunging the pair into a new fight for their lives.

A Guide To The Walking Dead Spin Offs
So, you’ve finished The Walking Dead. Now time to watch the spin-offs. But where to start?
The best way to watch The Walking Dead spin-offs is in release order, which is as follows:
- Fear the Walking Dead (eight seasons)
- The Walking Dead: World Beyond (two seasons)
- Tales of the Walking Dead
- The Walking Dead: Dead City
- The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon
- The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live
What Is Still To Come?
Dead City and Daryl Dixon have both been renewed for a second season as of July 2023. Meanwhile, the creators have also announced the development of a series under the working title ‘More Tales from the The Walking Dead Universe’, presumably following the same format as the episodic anthology series Tales of The Walking Dead, which zoomed in on the stories of both new and existing characters.
