What To Watch On Amazon Prime UK

Expats

Based on Janice Y. K. Lee’s 2016 novel The Expatriates, Expats is a six-part drama following three women whose lives become intertwined after they move from America to Hong Kong. Margaret (Nicole Kidman), has moved her whole family to Hong Kong, and befriends Hilary (Sarayu Blue), who is grappling with a failing marriage. There’s also Mercy (Ji-young Yoo), a college graduate looking to reinvent herself. New episodes were dropping every week on Amazon Prime, with the whole series available to stream from start to finish now.

Mr & Mrs Smith

Another new Amazon Prime original series, Mr & Mrs Smith is a remake of the iconic movie of the same name helmed by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. This time we have a series, and Donald Glover and Maya Erskine star as the eponymous married couple. But this married couple isn’t like everyone else: John and Jane Smith are secret spies, navigating a high risk mission every week while maintaining their cover-story marriage. Naturally, what starts as an arranged marriage evolves into mutual feelings… But it’s never that simple, of course.

Saltburn

Hot off its cinematic release, Saltburn is officially available to stream on Amazon Prime UK – perfect if you’re looking for a movie night (just don’t invite the whole family). Emerald Fennell’s sophomore film, Saltburn whisks us back to the 00s and drops us at Oxford University, where Oliver (Barry Keoghan) is a fresher longing to befriend the popular Felix (Jacob Elordi). As the two strike up a friendship, Oliver seems to struggle with Felix’s extremely posh world – and boundaries, too.

Clarkson’s Farm

With a third season on its way, it’s high time to tune into Clarkson’s Farm, Amazon Prime’s wildly popular original docuseries following Jeremy Clarkson and his challenges launching Diddly Squat farm. Read all about it in our comprehensive guide to the series.

Reacher

This series has attracted a bit of a cult following. Based on Lee Child’s best-selling novel The Killing Floor, Reacher centres on retired Military Police Officer Jack Reacher, and kicks off when he is arrested for a murder he did not commit. Jack finds himself in the midst of a deadly conspiracy, with only his wits to help him disentangle himself and figure out what exactly is happening. Series three is coming soon, so it’s the perfect time to catch up.

James May, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond

The Grand Tour

One for fans of Clarkson’s Farm, The Grand Tour is Amazon’s answer to the popular and long-lived BBC series Top Gear, having debuted swiftly after presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May left the BBC along with series producer Andy Wilman. They all reappeared on Prime Video, presenting a new show that has sadly just concluded its final series in early 2024 – but there’s plenty to catch up on. The Grand Tour really did go on tour: Mauritania, central Europe and Scandinavia are just a few of the destinations the trio explores in a range of top class cars.

Fifteen Love

Last summer, this Prime original series dropped – and it sparked a conversation. The series follows Justine (Ella Lily Hyland), a former tennis prodigy who works as a physiotherapist following a career-ending injury on court. She shared an intense rapport with her coach, Glenn (Aidan Turner), who she later makes an explosive allegation against – intense. We know Justine is telling the truth, but will anyone believe her? And will she convince them before Glenn hurts someone else? All of this is set against the stunning backdrop of an exclusive tennis training academy called Longwood Academy, so it’s the perfect watch for anyone interested in tennis, Wimbledon, or just pretty stately homes.

Daisy Jones & The Six

At this point, Daisy Jones & The Six is not new to Amazon Prime UK, but it’s still worth the watch if you missed it. Based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s hit novel of the same name, Sam Claflin and Riley Keough lead the series, which scooped up fans from across demographics thanks to its detailed (and reminiscent) glimpse into 1970s America. Keough plays the titular Daisy, a wannabe superstar with a talent for songwriting, while Claflin plays Billy, lead of a wide-eyed rock band hoping to make it big in LA. When they meet and collaborate, they produce the best album in American rock history – and then never collaborate again. Daisy Jones & The Six tracks this rise and fall in mockumentary fashion, soundtracked by the fictional album, created especially for the series.
