Stop the never-ending scrolling through Netflix – the answers are right here…
We’ve all been there: you’re itching to watch something, but you’re not entirely sure what. Instead of scrolling through Netflix’s seemingly endless carousels, read on for the C&TH pick of the best TV shows on the platform. Here’s what to watch on Netflix right now.
What To Watch On Netflix Right Now
Squid Game
When it landed on Netflix in 2021, this nine-episode Korean series was an instant hit, attracting millions of viewers in droves from across the globe. Combining gory action with tense psychological drama, the series follows Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), a gambler in need of a stroke of luck. He becomes one of 456 desperate contestants competing with each other in a mysterious game, with higher stakes than anyone could have ever anticipated: a lucrative 45.6 billion cash prize, or death. And there can only be one winner. Every game is a Korean traditional children’s game such as Red Light, Green Light, adding a twisted, unnerving dimension to this thrilling series. If that weren’t enough, Netflix has created a sister series: a reality TV version (no contestants killed for this one).

Top Boy
A third series of Top Boy arrived on Netflix this autumn, the final chapter deciding who will ultimately reign as Top Boy of Summerhouse. With only six episodes, it’s expected to end the thrilling crime series revival on a high note. If you’ve never watch the series, you’re in luck: the first two seasons are also available to watch on Netflix at your leisure.
Sex Education
Another Netflix series that came to a bittersweet end earlier this year: Sex Education. After catapulting its ensemble cast to the lofty heights of stardom – from Barbie to Doctor Who – all good things must come to an end, and Sex Education goes out with a bang. As with Top Boy, if you never jumped on the Sex Education train, you’ve got plenty of content to work through.
Beckham
Sport fan and wondering what to watch on Netflix? How about a sport documentary? Football fans are in for a treat with Netflix’s brand new docuseries, Beckham, tracking the incredible rise of Britain’s most famous football player. From his childhood to career highs and lows, here’s everything you can expect from the series.
Everything Now
If Sex Education and Euphoria had a baby, we think it would look a little something like this. Set in London, Netflix is delving back into British coming-of-age with Everything Now, which follows Mia, a 17-year-old who returns to school following a stint in hospital to discover that all of her friends have moved on to a new stage of teenagerdom featuring sex, drugs and parties. What else to do but dive right in? Read all about what to expect here.
Heartbreak High
If you loved Everything Now, you should stream Heartbreak High, a Netflix reboot of the original Aussie series. It’s funny, it’s sexy, and it’s dark at times. Most of all, what’s better than hearing Aussies swear as profusely as they so often do? When Amerie’s secret sex map is exposed to the school – tracking who has done what with who – she becomes and instant social pariah. To make matters worse, her best friend has completely turned against her, and Amerie can’t figure out why. Along with her new friends Quinni and Darren, she sets to finding out why, while navigating the day-to-day social and sex politics of high school.
The Haunting Of Hill House
This seriously haunting series is definitely worth the watch – though maybe only with the lights on. A modern reimagining of Shirley Jackson’s novel follows siblings who, as children, grew up in what would go on to become the most famous haunted house in the country. Now adults (played by Victoria Pedretti, Kate Siegel, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Michiel Huisman and Elizabeth Reaser), they are forced back together in the face of tragedy and must finally confront the ghosts of their past.
The Fall Of The House Of Usher
Fans of Netflix’s harrowing horror anthology series, The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor should tune into this adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe’s classic tale first published in 1839. Primarily exploring greed, the story centres upon Roderick and Madeline Usher, the couple at the helm of the lucrative Fortunato Pharmaceuticals empire, when a series of inexplicable deaths occur, linked by one peculiar woman.
Bodies
Stephen Graham stars as a mysterious political leader in this time-bending mystery, which spans four points in time, from Victorian London to the year 2053. Four detectives in four different times find the same murder victim’s body in London – the very same body. But how will they solve a crime spanning 150 years? And how has it even happened anyway?
