Whizz up the coffee-based tipple like the experts
There’s nothing like an Espresso Martini to turn your night around. One of the most popular cocktails around, the coffee-based tipple is believed to have been created by British bartender Dick Bradsell. As legend has it, a supermodel (long rumoured to be Kate Moss) came into his bar and asked for a drink that would ‘wake me up and f*** me up’ – and so Bradsell whipped up the now-famous cocktail.
A mix of vodka, coffee liqueur and espresso, the drink has a creamy, rich taste – and when made correctly, a thick layer of froth sits at the top, usually garnished with a coffee bean or two. It’s the perfect drink to serve after – or instead of – pudding at a dinner party, or as an aperitif for a sophisticated event. But how do you make it like Bradsell and the experts? We share a selection of Espresso Martini recipes below.
