Netflix will follow the superchef in a new docuseries

One of the world’s most famous chefs, Gordon Ramsay is no stranger to the screen. From his early days on Hell’s Kitchen to judging on MasterChef, he’s renowned for his fiery personality – as well as his prolific restaurant empire. But soon we’ll see Gordon Ramsay from a new angle, as Netflix has announced plans for a documentary, which will follow the chef as he opens a major new venture in London.

Netflix Announces Gordon Ramsay Documentary, Being Gordon Ramsay

Announced yesterday amid a string of new documentaries for Netflix, Being Gordon Ramsay will be filmed over a nine-month period, spread across a number of episodes. It will chart Ramsay as he opens his biggest restaurant venture to date: five new culinary experiences at London’s second tallest building, 22 Bishopsgate.

This will include a new branch of Lucky Cat, Ramsay’s Asian-inspired eatery, which will become the highest restaurant in London. There will also be a 14-seat chef’s table experience from Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, a new outpost of Bread Street Bar & Kitchen, and a cookery school.

The docuseries won’t all be all about the business side though: we’ll also get a snapshot into Ramsay’s family life. Netflix have said the show will ‘provide exclusive access to the Ramsay family, as Gordon balances his various work commitments and life as a husband to his wife, Tana, and father to their six children.’

The series is being directed by Dionne Bromfeld, and executive produced by Amanda Westwood, Deborah Sargeant, and Lisa Edwards.

Born in Johnstone, Scotland, Ramsay began his cooking career after moving to London and got a job working under Marco Pierre White at the restaurant Harvey’s. He spent time honing his craft in France, working with the likes of Joël Robuchon and Guy Savoy, before returning to London to head up Aubergine – which went on to secure two Michelin stars. He opened his first restaurant in 1998 – the beginning of many. Today he runs 58 restaurants around the world, including 24 in the UK alone.

What Is The Release Date?

Netflix hasn’t yet announced a release date, but the culinary venture will launch in February 2025. netflix.com
