These London boozers feature on the 2024 Great British Pub Awards shortlist

London is renowned all over the world for its pub scene. According to a report from 2020, there are over 2,000 of them dotted across the city, many dating back hundreds of years and oozing British charm. We all love our locals, but which pubs have the experts deemed the capital’s finest?

Great British Pub Awards 2024: Which London Pubs Made The Shortlist?

The shortlist for the 2024 Great British Pub Awards has been announced, with nine London spots making the cut. Running annually, the prestigious awards see nominees examined by a panel of judges, who put together a shortlist ahead of the winners being announced in a special ceremony – taking place this year on 17 September in Manchester.

For the 2024 shortlist, London pub nominations include The Pig’s Head in Clapham, a relatively new gastropub with a farm-to-fork ethos, which is in the running for Best Sustainable Pub. Three hotspots have been nominated for Best Pub for Entertainment: Soho Cabaret venue The Phoenix Arts Club, Greenwich favourite The Trafalgar Tavern, and LGBTQIA+-friendly pub Two Brewers in Clapham.

With its welcoming atmosphere and big garden, The Perry Hill Pub in Sydenham could be crowned Best Pub For Families, while The Kenton in Clapham made the shortlist for London’s Best Pub for Beer. The recently refurbished Clubhouse 5 in Leicester Square, meanwhile, has been nominated for the Best Pub to Watch Sport award. You can find the full list of London pubs on the shortlist below.
