Vegetables and whiskey

Set in an 8,500 sq ft warehouse in London Bridge, BRIX is inspired by the bustling foodie scene of New York. Head there this Thanksgiving for an epic sharing-style menu featuring all the classics: roasted pumpkin soup and grilled Cajun prawns to start, followed by a Norfolk turkey roast with all the trimmings – or a wild mushroom and corn pot pie if you’re veggie. Finish with a sweet potato pie, a Daim bar cheesecake, or a maple, pecan and pumpkin crumble – and wash it all down with a warming whiskey cocktail from Westland Distillery.

Gladwin Brothers’ Restaurants

The Gladwin Brothers bring a taste of the countryside to the bustling capital – but this Thanksgiving they’re offering a showstopping American feast. Head to any of the five Gladwin Brothers outposts across London to enjoy a specially-curated Thanksgiving menu featuring sweetcorn and brown crab chowder, Yorkshire turkey parmo with hispi cabbage coleslaw, and a classic pumpkin pie finished with a marshmallow witch’s hat. Oblix at The Shard

Head to Oblix and treat yourself to a Thanksgiving feast topped off with sweeping views of London. Designed as a sharing menu, the restaurant’s indulgent offering includes starters such as beef carpaccio with mustard dressing and parmesan, and smoked salmon and rice crackers with seaweed & horseradish. For the all-important main course, sample succulent turkey breast served with chestnuts, Brussels sprouts and a rich black truffle sauce, plus side dieshes including green beans wrapped in pancetta and roasted pumpkin with sweet maple syrup, sage & stracciatella. Make sure to save room for pudding: a classic caramelised pecan pie served with bourbon ice cream.

Great Scotland Yard Hotel

Great Scotland Yard Hotel’s Thanksgiving feast will encompass an array of delights, beginning with a specially-crafted Thanksgiving cocktail and a starter of Devon crab, sweet potato and orange velouté with cornbread. Roast turkey, confit root vegetables and cranberry sauce are next, followed by a traditional pumpkin pie.

With Michelin-starred chef Adam Byatt at the helm, you know Charlie’s will always deliver on the food front – plus it’s got a great atmosphere and stylish interiors. This Thanksgiving, head there for a traditional three-course menu, featuring starters like clam and sweetcorn chowder and delica squash soup, followed by a turkey roast with all the trimmings (including cranberry sauce, crushed sweet potato and potato and leek gratin). For dessert, it’s pumpkin custard tart served with autumn spiced ice cream.

Darby’s

Robin and Sarah Gill are the husband-and-wife duo behind some of south London’s best restaurants. One of these is Darby’s in Nine Elms, an oyster bar, bakery and grill inspired by New York, and named after Robin’s late father, who lived life to the full during the ‘50s and ‘60s. The restaurant is getting involved with Thanksgiving festivities with a four-course feasting menu, which includes Stateside dishes like truffled mac ‘n’ cheese croquettes, lemon and thyme roast turkey with cranberry sauce and gravy, and a pumpkin tart with toasted pecans and bourbon ice cream.

Thanksgiving meal at Sette by Scarpetta

The London outpost of New York’s Scarpetta family, Sette in the Bulgari Hotel serves Italian food with a Manhattan twist. Its Thanksgiving menu will begin with a Celeriac, porcini and truffle soup, followed by primi piatti dishes such as beetroot salad, yellowtail & pickled red onion and delica pumpkin ravioli. For the secondi, choose between roasted bronze turkey with all the trimmings, black cod with caramelised fennel or gran riserva risotto. Dolci, meanwhile, is a classic pecan pie, NYC cheesecake, or Italian doughnuts complete with sugar, cinnamon and chocolate. All this will be accompanied by live music, amid the restaurant’s sleek setting.

Duck & Waffle

Duck & Waffle

Raise a toast up in the clouds at Duck & Waffle, the sky-high restaurant located on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower. Its Thanksgiving feast will be served as a communal culinary experience, featuring dishes like bacon-wrapped dates, buttermilk cornbread served with whipped honey butter, and crispy polenta served with truffle mayonnaise. For the main event it’s a whole bronze turkey with all the trimmings, alongside classic Thanksgiving sides: think sweet potatoes with marshmallows and candied peanuts, green bean casserole with crispy shallots and mushroom gravy, and truffle mac ‘n’ cheese. Last but not least is a bourbon pecan pie, served with homemade clotted cream.

Riding House Café

A Thanksgiving menu will be available across all three of the Riding House Café branches, located in Fitzrovia, Victoria and Bloomsbury. The family-style feasting menu can be enjoyed for lunch or dinner on Thursday 23 November, with an additional dinner option available on 24 November at Riding House Fitzrovia. Kick off the festivities with cornbread stuffing, maple-buttered sweet potatoes and truffled mac & cheese, before tucking into slow roasted turkey followed by delectable pumpkin pie to finish.

This glitzy steakhouse is the first London foray for A-list US chef Wolfgang Puck, who rose to fame with Beverley Hills hotspot Spago. It’s part of Art Deco hotel 45 Park Lane, which belongs to the Dorchester Collection, and the décor is fittingly chic – all polished floors and leather banquettes, with Damien Hirst artworks adorning the walls. This Thanksgiving, guests can enjoy a special menu including a Dorset crab and lobster ‘Louis’ cocktail with avocado and horseradish panna cotta, Norfolk Bronze turkey with cornbread stuffing and cranberry compote, sweet potato with torched marshmallows, and a key lime pie dessert. Diners will also have the option of dining on the terrace, which is overlooked by the trees of Hyde Park.

The Stafford

The American Bar at The Stafford

Long a favoured destination for guests from across the Atlantic, The Stafford London hotel in St James is preparing once again for Thanksgiving across two of its outlets, The Game Bird restaurant and The American Bar. The latter is one of London’s longest-surviving American bars, filled with fascinating memorabilia from across the years, often donated by American guests. The hotel also interestingly played host to many American and Canadian officers during WWII, who sought refuge in the hotel’s centuries old Wine Cellars while stationed overseas and far from home. With a three-course menu available in both The Game Bird and The American Bar, guests can expect a feast, starting with butternut squash velouté followed by maple-glazed Kellybronze turkey with garlic mash, sage and onion stuffing, green bean casserole and roasted pumpkin. Top off your meal with chocolate pecan pie and mocha ice cream.

Bunga Bunga

Celebrating all things Ameri-Talian, Bunga Bunga’s immersive Thanksgiving Secret Supperclub Show will bring an all-singing, all-dancing dose of excitement to Covent Garden this Thanksgiving – literally. While entertainers provide thrilling performances all night and into the early hours, sip on a Jack Daniel’s tipple (think Old No.7, Tennessee Apple Liqueur and Single Barrel Whiskey) before tucking into a delicious three course feast featuring the likes of cherry bocconcini mozzarella and Bunga Bunga’s famed Metro Pizzas for mains – a whopping half a metre of pizza per person.
