Connolly launches a new limited-edition fragrance in collaboration with Lyn Harris

In a limited run of just 200 bottles, Cuir de Connolly has been created to evoke an olfactory version of this 140-year old British brand. This second collaboration with renowned perfumer Lyn Harris (the first, the Connolly candle, released seven years ago) calls to mind a heady, smoky blend of leather and vetiver – bold and masculine with a hint of 1970s Parisian dandy. Each handcrafted bottle of fragrance has a leather-wrapped bottle-stop and comes in a leather pouch, made in Connolly’s workshops. Available in store and online now.

The Georgian restaurant and roof terrace reopens at Harrods

The Georgian – which first opened its doors in 1911 – relaunches on 4 November after an extensive makeover. Designed to capitalise on the building’s unique architecture and with 20 chandeliers, the new 10,000+ sq/ft space is a meld of art deco grandeur and modern glamour. The focus will begin with afternoon tea – also served on the terrace – drawing on Harrods’ reputation as a tea merchant over the ages and in companion with the in-house pâtisserie team, whose seasonal and quintessentially British treats-with-a-twist will be served – Harrods says – with theatricality, eccentricity and flair. In the evening, chef Calum Franklin (formerly of the Rosewood London and Public House in Paris) moves in, with dishes inspired by The Georgian’s archive alongside caviar and oysters, and Franklin’s world-famous great British pies. “The Georgian has been at the heart of high society since the Edwardian era,” says Ashley Saxton, director of restaurants at Harrods. “By providing a world-class proposition through partners like Calum Franklin, we aim to blend its iconic charm with modern excellence and reaffirm its place as one of London’s most important dining destinations.”

Oliver Brown opens in Chester

A refined slice of Chelsea has arrived in Chester. British tailor Oliver Brown has set up shop on the city’s historic Rows (doubling the brand’s number of locations – to four – in just a year). To celebrate, Oliver Brown has released a limited edition (and Chester exclusive) olive double-breasted covert coat with a velvet collar (pictured), made from 100 percent British wool sourced from Batemen Ogden. The label has also announced that Daniel Williamson, a well-known figure in the Chester tailoring scene, will manage the new store, which opens on 4 November.
