Sofas & Stuff is launching a new fabric collection in collaboration with the RHS

Every May, London comes alive with an abundance of beautiful florals, foliage and plants as Chelsea Flower Show returns to the city. Green-fingered enthusiasts come from all over the world to get ideas for their green spaces – but the prestigious event is also a great source of inspiration for interior designers.

This year, bespoke British furniture and fabric brand Sofas & Stuff is launching a new collection designed to pay homage to the flower show, in collaboration with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). Florals for spring might not be ground-breaking, but the brand is giving the tried and tested aesthetic a new spin with a set of fabrics inspired by horticultural art and the rich history of botanical exploration.

Sofas & Stuff To Launch Botanical-Inspired Collection

When designing the new range, the team at Sofas & Stuff delved into the extensive archives of the RHS Lindley Collections, which span over 500 years of garden history, art and science.

Sofas & Stuff founder Andrew Cussins describes the collection as telling ‘a unique and authentic story about humanity’s enduring connection with nature’. Fabrics draw on a number of horticultural paintings, prints, sketches and prints from artists including Dutch illustrator Pieter Van Kouwenhoorn, botanical artist Henry Moon and English naturalist Mark Catesby, among others.

Each of the designs can be used across the brand’s wide range of sofas, chairs, beds, footstools and cushions, or bought as standalone fabrics which can be made into curtains or other soft furnishing projects.

Speaking about the collection, Cathy Snow, Licensing Manager at the RHS, said: ‘This is British craftsmanship of the highest quality, skillfully combining works from our own collection of superb botanical art with beautiful fabrics and furniture. Sofas & Stuff are true experts in making and upholstering bespoke sofas, chairs, beds and sofa beds, and these exciting new fabric designs are a delight.’

Family-run company Sofas & Stuff launched in 2009, originating in West Sussex and going on to launch 23 showrooms around the country. Over the years it has become renowned for its well-crafted furniture and beautiful fabrics, which are made to last. This will be the brand’s third collection created in collaboration with the RHS, the UK’s leading gardening charity.
