It’s giving very English maximalism

Queer-Eye star Tan France is creating his dream house: a beautiful red brick, mock Tudor mansion with a heady amalgamation of styles, plonked amid sweeping mountainscapes in Salt Lake City, Utah. Let’s step inside.

Tan France is known as a style guru, but this is his biggest client to date: a 6,500 square foot mansion in Utah. It’s the place the fashion mogul calls home, along with husband Rob France and their three sons.

France is sharing his home’s transformation with the help of Architectural Digest, detailing the creation of five key areas of the house – the master bedroom, the walk-in wardrobe, the guest house, the kitchen and dining rooms, and the outdoor area – as part of the ‘Home At Last’ series.

Who Designed Tan France’s House?

The Fox Group is working with the France family on every step of the design project. The Fox Group is led by Tom and Cara Fox, who design beautiful homes and appear in every episode of Home At Last to help Tan and Rob bring the vision of their dream home to life.

What Is The Design Style?

In a word, maximalist – but not as you’ve ever seen it before. Tan France has described his design style as ‘bougie grandma’, and this comes through in an eclectic array of ways in his Utah home. On the exterior, red brick combines with black and white mock Tudor beams on the exterior, accompanied by an oasis of a swimming pool and luscious green grass. Inside, expect a spectrum of colours and materials combined with patterns and intricate floral details.
