Eaton House Belgravia has just launched ‘Belgravia Bunnies’ – it’s ‘a musical, sensory and fun once-a-week experience for babies aged eight weeks to two years.’

It’s open to everyone – though Belgravia Bunnies is FREE to current Eaton House parents. If you’re an existing Eaton House Belgravia registrant, you’ll be able to get six sessions for £90 in total (that’s only £15 per session) and for external attendees it is charged at £120 for six sessions – that’s £20 per session.

These sessions, which will be run on a weekly basis by Ms Georgina Maughan – Eaton House Belgravia’s Head of Performance – will offer an opportunity for babies and parents to take part in a music and sensorial experience – think bubbles, some gentle but exciting sounds and a calm environment for your baby to be welcomed into the Eaton House Belgravia setting.

Reports indicate that the first session was a resounding success. Eight babies, parents, carers and grandparents settled on soft pastel cushions or chairs, surrounded by an array of silk scarves and musical instruments that made fun jingling and banging sounds, which even the smallest children loved. The cloud lighting on the ceiling of what will be the new library and the pale green ‘mountain’ walls suited the mood perfectly.

Insiders indicate that there may be plans to transfer to Eaton House Belgravia’s rather elegant green hall in future – this would be dependent on numbers, but if early reports are to be believed, this experience will likely become very popular indeed.

Another charming conceit of the event was the presence of a great deal of educational musical toys scattered about. Perhaps most notable was ‘Belgravia Bear’ who joined in the session as Ms Georgie’s enthusiastic Number Two, dancing, jumping and twirling round and round in a manner that delighted the attendees. But that’s not all – from the 5th September each of the attendees will be gifted with their very own ‘Belgravia Bunny’ to dance with.

The eponymous ‘Belgravia Bunnies’.

As one can see from the images, music was at the heart of the experience. Ms Georgie used her tiny purple ukulele to great effect: participants – from one baby of eight weeks to toddlers – all revelled in the song and dance sessions, which included the song ‘You Are My Sunshine’, to encourage the sun out, and lots of fun movement and instrument play.

‘One song involved tiny bubbles representing the stars, and the children gazed in wonder as they cascaded down,’ said an eyewitness. ‘Another used the delicate scarves in soft colours to represent the autumn leaves falling to earth. But one of the biggest hits was ‘Little Bunny Sleeping’, where participants had to pretend to be sleepy bunnies who were woken up to do enthusiastic bunny hops, mostly supported by their parents.’

‘It was a lovely occasion and a great opportunity for Belgravia parents to meet other parents with babies of the same age,’ says Eaton House Belgravia. ‘This is part of our intention to continue to strengthen opportunities for our wider community and we look forward to welcoming you and your little ones on Tuesdays moving forward.’
