Prince George will soon be moving up into secondary school education, but which school will he be joining?

Both Prince William and Harry attended Eton College in the 1990s. After a royal visit to the school this summer, it was assumed that Prince George would also enroll at the school. However, the prince has now been seen at Marlborough College with his parents.

Marlborough College, Wiltshire

Marlborough College is a co-educational independent school in Wiltshire. It offers full boarding for those aged 13-18 years old, as well as a large array of GCSE and A-level subjects.

Currently, Prince George, alongside his siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis attend Lambrook School in Berkshire. It is likely that if Prince George attends Marlborough that his siblings will later follow.

Kate has links with the school, having previously attended Marlborough College herself. She is said to have thrived at Marlborough – being a member of the hockey and cross-country teams, achieving brillant grades at A-level and ultimately securing her place at the University of St Andrews.

But it doesn’t stop there – Pippa Matthews, James Middleton and Princess Eugenie also went to Marlborough College.

Other alumni include comedian Jack Whitehall, artist William Morris and fashion designer Samantha Cameron.

Why Marlborough?

Marlborough offers an exceptional range of extra-curricular activities, pupils are known to excel in national competitions, with 50 sports teams competing each weekend. Pupils also participate in lots of musical and theatrical performances, even having the option to join the talented Symphony Orchestra which is in partnership with Southbank Sinfonia.

There are several boarding options at the school. On-site are six girls’ houses, six boys’ houses and four mixed houses. All located in the schools’ 286 acres of land.

It also runs the largest multi-generational summer activity programme in Europe, has its own Marlburian Club and an extensive outreach programme.

This undoubtedly is a school fit for a prince.
