Ready to celebrate in style? Prepare for the return of everyone’s favourite Regency queen with our edit of the loveliest tiaras, headpieces and crowns.

A Regency Revival: Why Are Tiaras Suddenly So Popular?

There’s only one thing to blame for our growing obsession with costume jewellery, empire gowns and pastel interiorsBridgerton. The series, which has had a chokehold on fans since 2020, has two new instalments in the pipeline – both of which will immerse us in the fantastical costumes, interiors and romances of Regency Britain.

The latest must-have item to join the Regency renaissance is the tiara, a decorative headpiece worn by ladies of the ton (and queens) for balls and special occasions. Ranging from ornately lavish crowns to delicately simple headbands, tiaras are once again making the rounds as a statement style piece. From weddings and parties to runways and TV shows, tiaras are here to stay.

The rise in all things Regency hasn’t slipped the notice of the world’s luxury jewellers, either. London stalwart Susannah Lovis Jewellers, which specialises in vintage jewellery, has seen the trend flourish first-hand.

‘It’s exciting to see so much renewed interest in tiaras and classical jewellery,’ says Susannah Lovis, Managing Director of the brand. ‘The lovely thing about the Regencycore trend is that it incorporates these opulent pieces into everyday wear, rather than just being reserved for high society functions such as debutante balls. Bridgerton‘s costuming definitely spotlights the joyfulness of Regency style, which is often mistakenly believed to be stuffy and boring, and that’s a wonderful reassessment to see.’
