Baa-bour's back with another festive treat

Is it really Christmas without a slew of festive-themed ads on the telly? We’d say not. And this year, all eyes are (once again) on Mossy Bottom Farm, where Barbour is giving Shaun the Sheep a seasonal glow-up.

Guess Who’s Baa-ck: Barbour’s 2024 Christmas Ad Is Here

When it comes to Christmas ads, Barbour’s got game. The British heritage label has produced a string of heart-warming festive films over the last few years – and for 2024, we’re revisiting a familiar face.

It’s off to Mossy Bottom Farm – home of Shaun the Sheep – again this year. Barbour has teamed up with the talented team at Aardman once more, who have used their trademark stop-motion animation to bring the brand back to the clay countryside.

‘After the success of last year’s campaign, we are excited to be collaborating with Aardman for another year,’ said Paul Wilkinson, Group Commercial Director at Barbour. ‘A British brand that shares our core values of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and quality. The Barbour and Aardman customer is multi-generational, which was a big part of the inspiration behind this campaign.’

What’s The Ad About?

As mentioned, we’re back on the farm – but this time, the focus of the feature isn’t on The Farmer and his Barbour jacket. Instead, the spotlight falls on farm dog Bitzer and his choir (aka, Shaun and the flock).

Following a rather frosty reception, during which the flock’s ‘baas’ begin to freeze, Bitzer takes it upon himself to warm everyone up. Whizzing away on his bike, he returns shortly after with numerous bags filled with Barbour goodies. The flock, now wrapped up in hats and scarves, ‘feel the magical warmth of the British brand’s quality accessories’ and can now freely sing their carols merrily.

Speaking on the collaboration, Aardman’s Senior Brand Manager Rachael Peacock, said: ‘We’re delighted to launch the next festive Shaun the Sheep adventure for Barbour. These iconic British brands share strong values of quality, craft and a shared love of the outdoors. Shaun and the flock have never looked better than in Barbour!’

Barbour x Shaun The Sheep Waxed Jackets

Alongside its Christmas 2024 ad, Barbour will also be releasing 30 Re-loved jackets. The new line will be a nod to last year’s festive film – and its message of extending the life of garments – plus a continuation of the Re-loved partnership with Glastonbury and Oxfam earlier this year.

Each jacket is completely unique, and comes with a Shaun the Sheep detail – starting with faux shearling lined inners, cuffs and full collars. ‘Baabour’ pin badges will also feature on each jacket, alongside a Shaun the Sheep keyring and embroidery on the front pocket.

‘This year we are pleased to support Oxfam,’ commented Wilkinson. ‘Giving 30 people the opportunity to purchase a unique, limited-edition Barbour x Shaun the Sheep Re-loved wax jacket with all proceeds going to the charity.’

To make the launch all the more exciting, Barbour has hidden a number of these jackets in Oxfam shops across the country. And all money raised from the jackets will go to the charity itself. barbour.com
