Wondering how to accessorise like a royal? These are the brands that Kate Middleton keeps stowed in her jewellery box for special occasions.
Over the years, the Princess of Wales has cultivated a personal style that thrives on classic pieces that stand the test of time. This ethos especially applies to her taste in jewellery, which she never fails to carefully curate to suit the occasion and tone of every event. But which jewellery brands take up a prime spot in Kate Middleton’s wardrobe? These are the names to know.
What Jewellery Brands Does The Princess Of Wales Wear?
When it comes to jewellery brands, Kate Middleton tends to wear a combination of luxury and affordable names. Mixing fine jewellery with everyday pieces, the royal keeps a humble collection of pieces that she keeps on rotation in her wardrobe.
Some of the most memorable names include:
- Kiki McDonough
- Annoushka
- Monica Vinader
- Patrick Mavros
- Asprey London
- Cartier
- Sézane
- Missoma
Does She Wear Antique Or Vintage Pieces?
Yes – on special occasions, you’ll find the royal wearing a combination of new and antique pieces, the latter of which typically being on loan from the royal family. One of our favourite examples of the Princess of Wales’s approach to mix-and-match jewellery was during last year’s Remembrance engagements, during which the royal teamed up a pair of earrings owned by her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, with a pearl drop necklace from British brand Monica Vinader.
Kate Middleton’s Favourite Jewellery Brands
Kiki McDonough
We can’t say whether Kiki McDonough is Kate Middleton’s favourite jewellery brand, but the royal owns over 30 pairs of earrings and three necklaces created by the London-based designer. McDonough, a fifth generation jeweller (and the only woman in the line), is famous for her bright colour combinations and timeless designs – making her the perfect match for the Princess of Wales’ elegant sense of style.

Annoushka
Another British designer Kate Middleton turns to is Annoushka Ducas, whose self-named brand specialised in fine jewellery crafted from recycled gold. While the brand is perhaps best known for its quirky charms and pendants – designed to tell stories about their wearer – it’s Annoushka’s classic creations that we often see Princess of Wales in. More recently, she was spotted wearing a pair of Annoushka’s pearl drop earrings in an Instagram post last June, when the royal gave an update on her cancer journey.

Monica Vinader
This London-based brand has also been worn by the royal on multiple occasions – including the 2024 Festival of Remembrance, where she teamed up a Monica Vinader necklace with antique jewellery from the royal vault. Known for classic pieces with a polished finish, Monica Vinader crafts its creations exclusively from recycled gold and sterling silver, and boasts its own lifetime repairs service and jewellery recycling scheme.

Patrick Mavros
The Princess of Wales was first seen this brand all the way back in 2009, when she attended a series of polo matches with her then-boyfriend, Prince William, wearing a pair dangly silver earrings. The royal has worn several Patrick Mavros pieces since, and is said to have even put the Countess of Wessex on the brand. The jeweller, a Zimbabwean family business, is one of country’s leading luxury houses and specialises in romantic designs rooted in the African landscape.

Asprey London
Heritage label Asprey London has been a British staple for over two centuries – and is a popular brand amongst the royals. While most may recognise the Asprey handbags carried around by the Princess of Wales on various public occasions, she also wears the brand’s jewellery (notably necklace and earring sets). Although Asprey does go beyond the two categories, specialising in accessories, silver, watches, crystal, silk and more.

Cartier
French luxury brand Cartier likely needs no introduction, having already made a name for itself in the jewellery, watches and leather goods space decades ago. And with its sparkling reputation, it makes sense that the label would catch the eye of the royal family. The Princess of Wales has worn various watches and jewellery items from Cartier over the years, including to major events like Wimbledon.

Sézane
If there’s one thing the Princess of Wales loves, it’s a statement earring. The royal owns at least seven pairs (as well as multiple items of clothing) from French label Sézane – mainly hoops, but she’s also been partial to a colourful, beaded set.

Missoma
Kate Middleton is thought to own just two pieces of jewellery from Missoma: a pair of gold chandelier hoop earrings and a pair of pink and gold pyramid charm hoops. But she’s kept the two sets on rotation for multiple events over the years. Specialising in high quality pieces handcrafted in-house in the brand’s London studio, Missoma actively encourages its shoppers to wear its creations again and again – and it seems the royal has indeed taken note.
