What to expect at London's trendiest pilates hotspot

The wellness side of TikTok is awash with reformer Pilates content right now. Although it has been around for a while, interest has skyrocketed lately, in part thanks to an influx of beautiful new studios – particularly in London. But few manage to compete with the allure surrounding Nobu Pilates, the ultra-glamorous fitness studio loved by the likes of Maya Jama, Nicola Roberts and Rochelle Humes. Here’s the lowdown.

What Is Nobu Pilates?

Opened in 2021, Nobu Pilates is a sleek reformer Pilates studio nestled within Nobu Hotel London Portman Square. The studio is housed inside a large, light-filled room overlooking Portman Square, with plenty of space between reformers, alongside other Pilates equipment like cadillacs and towers.

The studio is helmed by Marsha Lindsay, who initially trained at Pi Studio, going on to work at esteemed fitness brand Equinox before focusing her attention on the launch of Nobu Pilates. While most hotel gyms are restricted to guests only, this one is open to all, with an array of classes to choose from. There’s also a café where you can refuel afterwards with a smoothie or a poke bowl – or, of course, there’s the famous Nobu restaurant at the hotel.

Which Classes Are On Offer?

Nobu Pilates combines classical Pilates with high-intensity training, with three concepts on offer:

  • Power: A high-energy, HIIT-style class.
  • Precision: This carefully planned class focuses on specific muscle groups, like upper body or lower body.
  • Pure: A traditional Pilates class with uses an array of equipment including the reformer, tower and chairs, ensuring a fun, full body workout.

Clients can also choose to arrange a one-on-one class with Marsha. This will begin with a full-body analysis, which detects imbalances in the body, and can be used to create a bespoke workout tailored to your individual body and goals.

How Much Is Nobu Pilates?

Surprise surprise: it’s not cheap. A single class at Nobu Pilates costs £37, or you can book a block of five classes for £175, ten for £330, or 20 for £620.

You can also buy gift vouchers, including the Stretch and Sushi offering, which includes a class followed by a Bento Box at Nobu restaurant.

How To Book

You can book online via MindBody. Find out more at [email protected]. The studio is located at: 22 Portman Square, London W1H 7BG.
