Opening in November
Boasting British superstar hotels 11 Cadogan Gardens, Chewton Glen, Cliveden House, The Lygon Arms and The Mayfair Townhouse, Iconic Luxury Hotels is expanding its overseas presence. First came Excelsior Venice Lido, an utterly elegant peach-hued landmark perched right on the beach in the floating city. And next is Palm House, a new luxurious address in Florida’s Palm Beach – and the first new hotel to open in the prestigious neighborhood in four years. Here’s what you need to know.
Sneak Peek: Palm House, Palm Beach
Iconic Luxury Hotels’ first US property is a sun-soaked sight to behold – and a must-visit for fans of Apple TV’s recent series Palm Royale. The design and furnishing match up with the glamorous ‘60s setting of Palm Royale Country Club: pink umbrellas and plump cushioned loungers flank a glistening swimming pool on the central Sunset Pool Deck, with striped awnings casting shade over cabana beds. An oasis in the heart of the hotel, this secluded sanctuary boasts poolside service and thoughtful touches like hourly Evian spritzes.
At Palm House, some of the spacious 79 guest rooms and suites are complete with sliding glass patio doors opening out to the poolside, some have private balconies, while all champion colourful and playful yet tasteful maximalist interiors. Plenty of pinks, sage tones and jewel greens are grounded by natural tiles, marble tables, soft lighting, mirrors and leafy plants. For a truly luxurious stay, opt for the two-story Presidential Suite – and slumber in the largest hotel bed in Palm Beach.
The first new hotel to open on the Florida island in four years, Palm House is a key part of the new buzz emanating off Palm Beach. When it opens next month on Royal Palm Way (just steps from the beach), Palm House will join a wave of new restaurants and just pip fellow new hotel opening, The Vineta Hotel, to the post. Managed by Oetker Collection (behind London’s The Lanesborough, Paris’s Le Bristol, and nine more luxury hotels across the globe), The Vineta transforms one of the town’s landmark buildings into a luxurious address and is set to open before the end of the year.
Designed as a modern retreat, the opulent allure of Palm House is married with relaxed exclusivity and perfect service. The Palm Bar – manned by white-tuxedoed bartenders – serves inventive cocktails from a luminous marble pink bar, while the lobby itself offers a cocooning welcome with plush ruby-toned sofas, seashell tapestries and hand-blown coral Murano glass chandeliers designed especially for the space. Palm House Dining Room, meanwhile, offers all-day deliciousness, with elegant indoor and outdoor seating. Corridor walls showcase the town’s golden era of opulence – the ‘50s and ‘60s – through Slim Aarons iconic photography.
