A dreamy cottage you'll want to stay, stay, stay in too
Wondering where (and why) celebrities stay in the Cotswolds? While Taylor Swift is playing eight shows at Wembley Stadium this summer, it looks like she won’t be spending much downtime in London – instead, she’s rumoured to be renting a million-pound property near Chipping Norton. Here’s everything you need to know about the allure of this bucolic spot…
Where Celebrities Stay In The Cotswolds
So long, London: Taylor Swift has chosen the Cotswolds as her base during the UK leg of her Eras Tour this summer. Swapping skyscrapers for serene country views, the popstar is reportedly staying in a charming cottage near Chipping Norton.
Swift has, understandably, kept most of the details under wraps, but it looks like she and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, are staying in a sprawling property in Great Tew, just outside of Chipping Norton. The gorgeous home is estimated to cost £3.3 million, with Swift renting it out for £3,000 per night.
A rural village might not seem like the wisest option for a musician dedicating a large part of their tour to London venues, but the Cotswolds isn’t too far from the cities Swift is visiting – namely Liverpool, Cardiff and London itself. To get to her gigs in Scotland, meanwhile, she could simply board her private jet at Enstone, a private airfield only a short drive from Great Tew.
Which Celebrities Live In The Cotswolds?
The Cotswolds has always been a go-to spot for gorgeous scenery and postcard-perfect cottages, but it’s now evolved into a celebrity magnet: the Beckhams live a stone’s throw from Great Tew, and Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm also stands proudly in Chipping Norton.
Slightly further afield, Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall own a property in Cheltenham, while actor Jamie Dornan lives in Chalford and Kate Moss boasts a ten-bedroom home in Little Farringdon, West Oxfordshire.
Where Do Celebrities Stay In The Cotswolds?
Of course, there’s plenty on offer in the Cotswolds even if you don’t happen to own an enormous honey-coloured mansion. Soho Farmhouse is perhaps the biggest celebrity hangout (and, in fact, it’s only minutes away from where Swift is reportedly staying). Set in 100 acres of Oxfordshire countryside, it’s complete with a spa, gym and Wellness Barn (naturally). Guests can enjoy clay pigeon shooting, horse riding or simply soaking in sunken hot tubs in the lake. Sounds like the perfect way for the world’s biggest popstar to recover after a record-breaking world tour…
You’ll also find the bucolic Daylesford Farm nearby, alongside the jaw-dropping Estelle Manor and The Lakes By Yoo, a collection of luxury holiday homes and rentals benefitting from a spectacular spa and restaurant. Forget glitzy hotels in the capital – the Cotswolds is certainly celeb-approved.
