The Kartell X Liberty Outdoor Collection

Last year, Kartell made waves at Milan Design Week with the announcement of a three-part collaboration with Liberty  – and the second collection has just been unveiled. Combining iconic Liberty London prints with Kartell’s elegant furniture designs, it promises to be a real hit. (It’s also an exciting companion to the Kartell X Liberty outdoor collection, which consists of some rather gorgeous cushions and modular seating, all covered in famous Liberty prints.)

So, what can we expect? The answer, it turns out, is some rather beautiful armchairs. The HHH chair

Originally designed by Philippe Starck, the Madame armchair has been reworked using Liberty’s ‘Fanfare’ fabric – a print inspired by a geometric pattern found on a rare archival fragment from the 1880s. Think Kartell’s signature contemporary look with a touch of Liberty elegance, all finished in shades of red, blue or mustard yellow.

Starck’s classic ‘HHH’ chair has also been reworked using a variety of Liberty prints including ‘Empress Vine’ (a floral pattern finished with cherry blossoms and carnations), ‘Scallop Spot’ (a geometric pattern inspired by peacock feathers), and ‘Poppy Meadowfield’ (a revamped version of the celebrated Poppy & Daisy print). Spring florals just levelled up…
